Needs Updating
So I'm at the end of week 1 of Closer Diets which is run by Tesco, and under the latter name, this is the second time I've done this diet. There is a choice of meal plans and you can swap between them so that's flexible. I will come back in a few weeks and comment on its overall success but first time round I lost a stone so should be good.
People talk in their reviews about the fees. I paid £18 for 8 weeks and £8 extra for a fitness plan. It does say - but you need to read the small print - that a subscription will continue to be taken if you don't unsubscribe . So read the fine print and cancel at your own convenience.
I'm doing the Beach Body plan with recipes so its got a lot of fresh ingredients and great variety. You just need to shop and be prepared to cook. You can opt for convenience foods too but I want to learn how to better prepare healthy food.
The food is quick to make and tasty.
So the down side......I won't get week two meal plan until I weigh in on day 8. Hence I can't plan thenforthcoming weeks food. This is an own goal. In a market where fitness and healthy eating is strong , this needs a rethink as does the limited interaction and an App format would solve that. I've given my feedback direct to them on the meal plan, lets see if they act on customer feedback.
Otherwise happy with it and looking forward to my weigh in

Don't Bother
I have been using my fitness pal since February time and have lost 2 stone, I wanted some extra support and ideas to lose more weight to reach my target - so signed up with Closer diets. The recipes aren't great, they say everything is 360 cals based on my weight and what i need to lose but this is a joke as there not if you submit the recipes to my fitness pal, i actually put on weight, dont think the website is easy to use either - really not worth paying for when my fitness pal is free!

Plenty Of Choice
I really like that there is so much to chose from on the Closer diets
website. I like the way you can weigh in and record your weight from
the privacy of your own home and you also receive a personal reply from
the mentors. The support is wonderful and so motivational. There are
plenty of meals and recipes to chose from and if you don't like cooking
there is even the option to chose a convenience plan where there is very
little preparation involved.
Agreed. I followed this diet years ago and lost loads of weight. For various reasons it's gone back on again, but now I've signed up again I KNOW it will come off again. The menus are a life saver. I'm following the closer diets plan, (there are a few to choose from) and at 1400 calories, you get LOADS to eat. Good value for money as well, 6 weeks for 12.90!!

Scam
After hearing loads of great reviews i signed up for the 3 months at £29.90 - i thought that would be a 1 off payment but no sooner then i clicked submit they took £19.90 from my account, then about 10 minutes later £1 - tried contacting them as it did not state there would be an initial payment of £19.90 on top of the £29.90 only joined as it was a lot cheaper then other dieting sites but after reading other reviews am trying to cancel before anymore money is taken... definately would not recommend..

The Diet Plan Itself Was Not Too Bad But I Decided
The diet plan itself was not too bad but I decided to not renew after my 10 week subscription had expired. I now discover that Closer Diets have continued to take money without permission from my credit card. When challenged they told me that at the bottom of the email (in very inconspicuous print)they sent me to tell me my subscription was about to expire, there is a paragraph saying that unless you physically cancel your subscription they will continue to take money from you.
They will not refund any money that has been taken. This seems nothing more than a scam and I wonder how many other people this has happened to.
Before my purchase I would like to have known that Closer Diets would contine to take money from me without my permission.
"Before my purchase I would like to have known that Closer Diets would contine to take money from me without my permission".
They did, you just didn't read the small print.

Beware....this Seems To Be Nothing More Than A Con
BEWARE....this seems to be nothing more than a con, you have to subscribe at the coast of £30 and have a meal plan designed for you, you are given a meagre amount of calories and are left feeling hungry, i was on the convienience plan set at only 1200 calories, and in my 1st week i lost nothing !!!... i have now unsubscribed **** PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THERE IS NO REFUND POLICY *****..this means it has cost me £30 to be on a diet for a week and lost nothing (except the £30)
Exactly!!! For heavens sake you didn't exactly give it a chance did you? Weight takes time to go on and it takes time to come off, it won't happen overnight. You are clearly a very impatient person who wants everything to happen NOW. Close diets is GREAT value for money, far better than some of the more well known ones that's for sure.
You only gave it a week. How can you judge a diet from one week?! This is a lifestyle overhaul i.e healthy eating combined with exercise for life. It takes time and effort. If you want to shed pounds quickly go on a faddy diet like the cabbage soup one. You'll lose lots of water weight and then pile it all back on when you can't stand it any longer and pig out.

I Am About To Join Closer Diets For The 3rd Time.
I am about to join Closer diets for the 3rd time. It has been brilliant for me to hop on or off the diet & I always lose weight. 1.5 stone the 1st time, 1 stone the second & now Im trying for my last stone to get to my goal. The choices for recepies are fab, being allowed to eat burger & chips with a glass of wine a night is a god-send! You do need will-power to follow it, but to get on the scales week after week & see an average of 2lbs a week drop off is a great incentive!
My only complaint is the amount of time it takes me to change my weekly menu, but the ready to order shopping list is fantastic.
If you are willing to spend time organising yourself for menus & can stick to what you are told to eat you WILL lose weight!
Here here, completly agree. I'm pretty sure closer diets used to be called cafeslim years ago. When I googled cafelsim it came up with this. I lost LOADS of weight following it before and despite trying all the other main ones with NO success, I've signed up to this again. I'm on 1400 calories a day you can eat LOADS. Can't wait to get started.

Overall I Am Very Impressed With Closerdiets.com A
Overall I am very impressed with closerdiets.com and would recommend it to my friends and family. The website has supported me in losing weight and has given me the motivation I needed to start the weight loss process. I am really enjoying the recipes and am finding that I am actually eating more but still losing weight. The meal plans are easy to follow and the shopping list is a real help.
Yep agree with all that 100%. I will NEVER go back to the other ones I've tried, (you know the usual suspects). This is just brilliant, and you get so much food you really don't feel as if you are on a calorie controlled diet at all. Also I agree about the shopping lists, brilliant. A real help. None of the other *big names* do this. Give me closer diets any day. :)

I Felt That Closer Diets Was A Waste Of My Time. I
I felt that Closer Diets was a waste of my time. I was much better off using a 2 week diet and sensible eating plan that you can pick up in any weekly magazine for about 80p not 13.95 per month.Unless I had special dietary requirements, I wouldn't bother.
