Where-o-where do I start with this website. They boast they will help with your PR and at the start you get caught up with everything they can do, their promised their charm, you really feel like you've found someone that can help. Put your hand in your wallet though and then all the empty promised and charm soon melt away.

Here's my little story on dealing with www.startup-pr.co.uk

I paid a deposit on a plan they created for my business which sounded fantastic, it would get my brand known, trusted and ultimately increase my customers and sales, what we all want in business yes ? So after I paid I found myself doing all the background work they said they would do, it was ME that was writing the articles when I was promised professional services on this to just get the brush off that "we will review and tidy them up after", honestly a 1st year pupil at high school could do a better job (and don't even think about asking for a refund or credit note if this happens, you soon see a different side then).

So after I did all the work on the press releases they move to gain exposure all over the internet "this will take time I'm told" which I accept. Weeks and week go by with the broken record telling me that "this will take time". After approx 3 months I then receive an invoice for the final amount, calling them to inform them of their obvious mistake as I have nothing to show for my money, I'm informed that they have done their job and they even have the cheek to try and upsell me. I refuse and demand a refund, where I then receive a very unwelcomed tone tell me that "it is just as easy to make a good reputation than to destroy it and don't forget we are in the business of getting good or bad press releases out into the public".

So to date I have had no refund and nothing to show for it. I wont put my name here as I don't want to test out whether she would really put out bad press because of this, but I would do your home work better than I did before handing over any cash to any "PR" company.
