I had been looking for an off beat Christmas gift for my close friends and family members who live away from us. I had ordered 5 hand painted oil portraits from them, each for a friend or family member. The feedback I got from my friends and family members have been extremely rewarding. Each of them loved the paintings and complemented me for sending hand painted oil paintings.

What I appreciate about this service (Portraitnpainting.com)

Pros:

1. Their price. I paid $175 for each standard sized oil portrait (on canvas) which included the shipping cost. I think that is what I call 'affordable' art.

2. They are a https secured website; safe for online payments. COMODO guarantees $10,000 insurance on every order on their behalf. That made me feel safe doing an online purchase.

3. Their delivery was fairly timely. I placed the order of 5 paintings on 13 December 2009, and before the end of the year, each of the 5 recipients called me up and complemented me for the gifts.

4. They are offering total 24 types of art and designing services, including book cover designs, illustrations, custom comic book art, storyboard, logo design... etc. I think it is sort of convenient for people who need various forms of art round the year.

5. They have their sample gallery, online shopping cart... so ordering was easy and fast.

Cons:

Lots of services are listed on the home page; making the home page lengthy and somewhat confusing. You may have to search for a while to locate the service you are looking for.
