Be very careful choosing this business to provide a fuel card solution. It is through pure frustration that I need to warn other small businesses that The Fuelcard Company are virtually impossible to contact and square up an account with. I assure you I am not exaggerating when I tell you that I’ve tried in excess of a dozen times to call and speak to the payments team to square up an account. The use a very unpleasant policy of offering a premium rate phone number for you to call in and attempt to pay your account. In all the times I’ve called, the phone rings and rings and rings and after an extended time of holding….the phone just goes dead. I tried a new strategy, I called into ‘new business’ and politely asked a member of the sales team to put me through (note this is a non-premium phone number)….again the phone rings and rings and rings, then it goes dead again. On one occasion i was lucky enough to get through to a super helpful chap in sales and he was aware of just how difficult it is to get through to a hr collections team and he kindly offered to stay on the phone with me….he even said he emailed or messaged the team saying I was desperate to get through and pay. But no…..despite all that his extra assistance, the call still didn’t get through and was disconnected. I was sent endless replies to emails asking/pleading for someone to call and take my payment. Absolutely zero reply…nothing! The final kick in the teeth is now I have an annoying collection company using the threat of court action and have doubled the amount owed!….so £2xx I’m trying to pay is £4xx. It’s a total farce and causing a real pain and I’m totally fed up with spending so much valuable time trying to deal with this company. I hope this reviews are read by people who make policy and see what the real customer experience is. The concept of a fuel card is great and the user experience of dealing with the helpful sales team is very positive…..BUT, if you need to try and pay a bill and need to contact anyone other than sales, you will be totally frustrated and the friendly sales team members I dealt with, are totally aware just how bad the collection team is. It’s a genuine shame you have to use feeedback site to be seen and heard, but in the case of The Fuelcard Company, they need to treat their customers better and not make it virtually impossible to contact them. In an era of remarkable technology, it’s unbelievable a business can make itself so difficult to contact and pay. I will close my account as soon as I have finally manage to pay, I have had a torrid experience of annoyance and incompetence from a large organisation that really should know better. Please factor this in when you are choosing a fuel card partner, I know I’m not the only business owner that struggles with this issue and I’m now receiving threatening letters to be taken to court because this outfit can’t take a payment due to never picking up the phone or answering an email. Just beware.

add fees for everything and won’t refund. Fuel higher than pump price.

I can’t write a review strongly negatively enough I feel like this company are the lowest. Prices were higher than pump price, then fees added on for not using them. Requested account closing due to this so the whack on £179 fee and close the account. Then say they can’t consider a complaint or refund because the account is closed. We are a small business and it is terrible we had nowhere to escalate this to. Not regulated by any ombudsman which they basically told me they can do what they want. Would never ever recommend them. Has made me feel cheated and angry that a company can do this.

I AM not recommend THE DIESEL ADVANCE The staff very rude ,any problem if you have You will not find anyone to know something .

I wanted just to top up the card

and was impossible to find someone to help THEY WILL tell you,,will call you back ,,but never,NEVER they will call .

I had a bad experience with this staff and please don't do like me .

Don't Use Them

hit you with hidden charges over a few months, don't ask you just add them and hope you don't notice. Even add a charity donation. Wouldn't recommend UK Fuels to anyone.

Stay Away

They add extra charges to your account if you do not opt out from sleazy e-mails they send advising of extra services, if you do not reply they add them to your account.

Awful company to deal with!

Signed up initially waited 4 weeks to hear nothing and then boom 3 cards arrived. No information about pricing, terms & conditions or anything else. Slowly underfunding fees, zero liability insurance started to appear. Emailed the account manager to receive an email days later. Undelivered. Spoke to a useless woman on the phone she has left the company but no one has been in touch. Deciding to close my account. Time to revert back to my debit card and pay a fairer price at Tesco Pumps!

If you value your time and money - Stay away, far away from this joke of a company!

Business branded as ‘The’ fuel card company! Won’t be long until they’re out of business!

I Got The Fuel Cards And Used Them For 6 Months Sp

I got the fuel cards and used them for 6 months spending 600£ a months but noticed being overcharged from week one I complained every week was assured it will be refunded and settled. After no refund for 6 months I stopped using the cards I was assured I can hold the cards or cancel there is no charge and 3 months later of no usage they sent me a bill of £80. Their promises don’t mean anything and what they say is recorded but can’t be accessed unless you know the right day and time you called. Stay away and save a lot money . If anyone has claimed their money back or complained and had a positive response from a third party plz let me know as I want to claim back all the money they owe me thank you.

I have the same problems never mentioned surcharge in the sites and the. Promised I’ll be refunded the surcharge 6 months I stopped using the card after false promises and then 3 months of non usage I get a bill again. Taking to trading standards.

We had 11 cards with this company but the charges kept increasing. I looked about sourced an alternative and attempted to cancel my account in November. Email was ignored. Contacted them by phone in December, resent email and was told that had I read the 8.5 pages of small print I would be aware that it takes 3 months to cancel! I also paid a small zero liability charge which covers the card use if lost or stolen, as the cards had been destroyed I requested that this be taken off the account. However, 4 month on and I am still failing! Can I prove what was said on the phone as the person we were dealing with has left? Will they refund? No. Last night I received a further invoice for the issue of new cards and a £10 for failing to use the old ones. How did they help? They only offered to let their accounts team know that the Direct Debit has been cancel to prevent them attempting to get the money we don't owe. How generous. Stay away from this company.
