Our BWT WS355 Water Softener broke within 17 months of installation. I had kept the invoice but failed to register it - thus voiding the 2 years parts and 3 years labour guarantee advertised on the website from which I purchased the unit. NOTE: REGISTER YOUR UNIT WITHIN 100 DAYS OF INSTALLATION. Though there is a care sticker on the unit advertising their care line, a sticker confirming the need to register the unit upon installation would be a lot more useful! PRICES quoted were just as per the previous review, with an option to pay £185 to have it fixed and guaranteed for 1 year from the date of it being fixed. As this is almost half the cost of the unit (purchased for £438) I am not impressed. Also advised to have it serviced every 2 years at a cost of £145. These overheads are high! and obviously rather necessary if our unit broke within 18 months. I am now looking at cutting my losses and purchasing an alternative brand of machine. I am sorely disappointed with the level of service offered by this manufacturer. I would not recommend you purchase one of their products.

When bwt softener gets to last bar on display which could be first thing in the morning and a recharge is showing.it runs all day diluting my attic tank down before evening.good for saving salt but I would rather have soft water. Not fit for purpose really.

We have had our BWT water softener for two years and arranged for it to be serviced. We were told this would be £99 for callout and service and extra for parts. When the extremely pleasant engineer arrived he asked whether we wanted the service pack which cost £46. The £99 service is just a check and if you want what I would call a proper service it will cost another £46 for the parts. Very misleading BWT and not very honest. This water softener was supplied by our plumber - if we had known we would have asked for another make - never paid more than £50 for our old machine to be serviced - and properly. It lasted over 20 years.

We have had our softener 3 years and it has performed faultlessly in this time with great soft water. Recently the machine has incurred an electrical problem. The manufactures engineers were book and could only come two weeks later. On the booked day they phoned and told us their engineer had driven too many miles that day and was cancelling - weak and deplorable excuse. They now can only rebook for 2 weeks hence. I phoned an independent company who informed us it was the only softener they could not get parts for. It is no good having a softener that does not work and engineers who don't care. Think twice about using this machine.

It works, all the time. Zero maintenance, very minimal hassle (plop in some salt once a month). That's the first thing you need to know. The box is discreet. The installation was professional. No more limescale, anywhere where there is water including inside our machines. We use a LOT less shower/bath/washing machine/dishwasher products. We use a lot less harsh cleaning chemicals. One of the best investment I have made for a while. Very happy customer.

what a terrible water softener leaks every where , had for less than a year , got rid off asap , have got my self a harvy unit best thing i ever did
