There's a lot of snobbery about gear, in walking as everything else. The joke is a great deal of stuff is made in the same factory as 'upmarket' brands, just with a different badge on.
These boots are a case in point - they are identical to a Very Famous Brand, down to the Vibram soles.
They have full leather uppers & throat. This means that they will take some breaking in - don't buy them, & expect to start doing the Pennine Way next day. My last few pairs of walking boots have had composite uppers. They have required no breaking in, are light, but I feel do not have the solidity or are as waterproof as full leather jobs.
After 'running in' they were tested for a few days on the Welsh Coastal Path in Winter. They passed with flying colours, & are now my go to Winter boots.
Don't pay full price, MW change prices weekly, & they are often on offer for 1/2 price.
