I brought my family here yesterday for a meal. Driving from Cardiff, I was a bit unsure on the location other than it being 'near cardiff airport' but using the satnav with their postcode CF62 3BP it was a breeze. Driving in to the small village of Penmark it was like we were in the middle of nowhere; such a picturesque village with nothing but a church and The Six Bells Pub Restaurant. We pulled up outside the pub and was pleasantly surprised with their humongous car park... The kids loved the horses and chickens running around too! On to the inside and we were quite surprised with the restaurant, it is very modern and contemporary (though not out of place) it's just not expected. On the other side of the servery there is a traditional bar which is really in keeping with the style of the building (which i believe dates back to the 15th century) roaring log fire going which was lovely and plenty of activities for the kids (various board games are in the bar area) the owners are very welcoming and being a family friendly pub restaurant they have highchairs available and offer a good childrens menu. The main menu was good for adults, we'll definitely go again.
