“vauxhall vivaro wont rev when start engine”

Written on: 07/08/2012 by tom1987 (1 review written)

hi i have just purchased a vauxhall vivaro 06 cdti when i start the van it takes between 5 to 10 seconds every time for the revs to start working, sometimes when ive been driving a while (when van is warm) it doesnt rev at all have to wait till engine cools down 20 mins for revs to work, once revs work the van drives fine, i have already changed the maf sensor next to the air filter i have cleaned the egr valve after ive done both of these things it worked straight away for a very short period of time but came back, i have had a diagnostics with no faults i am really struggling to find a mechanic that no's what the problem is if someone could shed some light on the problem it would be very much appreciated thanks tom.

Hi Tom my 05 vivaro has exactly the same problem I was just wondering if you got to the bottom your problem because I know it will be the same as mine. I'm sick of my van honestly I have virtually replaced the whole engine and last week paid £500 for a new turbo (2nd one I've put on) but I have got it all signed for my business and even if I wanted to sell it I wouldn't be able to because of this problem....HELP

Hi Mikethemikey, really appreciate the advice, do you know what the sensors are called so I can look them up online? Thanks again.
