The Vax C89-MA-T Air Total Home cylinder vacuum cleaner is a nice looking, compact vacuum cleaner with ingenious storage for all the tools (once you work out where they all go!). You need to remove the tools during use or the machine is far too heavy and awkward and I found this added to the overall time spent vacuuming as I had to keep going back to where I had stored the tools to change them over. I would also prefer to have one hose which extends rather than switching for the stairs. On a positive note the hard floor tool is now something I would look for when considering to purchase another vacuum cleaner, the machine is light and easy to use (without the tools attached), interchanging the tools is simple, the cleaner is powerful and quiet and the amount of suction is fantastic. All the tools provided are well designed and the dirt container is easy to empty. I would highly recommend the turbo tool for those with pets as it picks up even pet hair that you don't see with the naked eye in no time at all. It is nice to have a cleaner with a narrow handle as on previous cleaners I have owned, the crevice tool was unable to reach any crevices due to an ill designed, bulky handle! Six filters seems a lot to clean but they are straightforward to remove and maintain. The provision of a 6 year warranty is awesome and if you need to contact Vax with any questions or problems their customer service staff are helpful and friendly. All in all I would recommend this cleaner to anyone who likes cylinder style vacuum cleaners but for me personally, I find upright cleaners easier to manage :-)

I have always used an upright model before and haven't really liked cylinder models I have used previously. However, the Vax Mach Air has changed my mind. It is light, easy to use, has great suction power and has a long enough extension tube so you don't need to bend over to use it which I have found with other cylinder vacuums. I have wooden floors in my house and it's great to use on them too. The hard floor tool glides over my floors and fits under tight spaces like the sofa and radiators. I have also used the upholstery tool on my chairs and it picks up all the crumbs from these hard to reach places. Emptying the cylinder is quick and easy too. It comes with a number of attachments for floors and upholstery, including an extra long hose to reach the top of the stairs, and the only problem I have found is where to store them all! However, it does wind up the power button at the push of a button and has a parking slot where the floor head you are using can be attached for carrying. Overall a great vacuum cleaner with the added bonus of a 6 year guarantee.

i thought this vaccuum wasnt much good to start with, but after using it to clean the stairs and hall i am converted,it is amazing the hose even reached into the bathroom and with little effort from me it powered through the upstairs,the stairs werent a chore, the only problem i have is lack of space i have kept the box because it comes with lots of attachments,and 2 hoses,my first cylinder hoover and im impressed not as hard work as i thought.

I have a dog and two cats and pet hair is a real problem for me. I have an aging Dyson cleaner that has never really coped with this problem so a change aws needed. The vax cleaner however was a revelation. I used it on carpets that had been vacuumed with the dyson a few hours earlier. The amount of pet hair, dust it picked up was impressive. It's got a quiet motor and ios easy to move around and you can get into the nooks and crannys. The turbo brush tool works extremly well, especially on my car upholstery. My only niggle was that the tools concealed in the hose handle are a bit fiddly to replace. But all round an extremlygood cleaner.

Never owned a Vax before, but i thought a 'change is as good as a rest'. So i got the Vax Mach Air Cylinder Cleaner. I am so glad i did. It is by far the best vacuum cleaner i have ever owned (and i have had a few!) My carpets look like they have had a deep clean. I thought my carpets looked ok until they had been 'Vaxed'! It has plenty of tools so every nook and cranny in the house can be cleaned. There is a little turbo tool that is great on the stairs. The soft brush has cleaned all my skirting boards and got rid of cobwebs and dust off lampshades. Dont' be fooled by it's small size. The suction on it is amazing. After a couple of mishaps (it ate some toilet roll and tried to eat my duvet cover) we got on great. It is easy to forget how powerful it is so carefull where you aim... you have been warned!! Cant' believe i got so exited over doing housework. But when your house looks so clean after, housework is a lesser chore. A six year guarantee is a great bonus too! Well done Vax!

I have always been “anti” cylinder vacuum cleaners, preferring upright models…but this machine has changed my opinions. I have previously used Dyson models: the first did sterling duty, but was exceptionally heavy; the second one I acquired was lighter, more powerful , but with a small cylinder capacity. The Vax has proved to be exceptional: after the first use I was surprised how much dust the Dysons had not been picking up!! Getting used to the floor heads on the rigid arms took some time, but proved to be incredibly efficient once you know how to handle them!! The Turbo tool has been fantastic on stairs. The machine is easily portable and not too heavy, emptying the cylinder is easy. The various attachments and tools make high level cobweb removal an achievable task. In a farmhouse shared with three dogs, dust, dog hair and general dirt is a constant problem. The Vax C89-MA-T is a huge benefit and tremendous help! More information in the manual on the various tools would be helpful. The hinge to the cylinder flap seems to be a little weak and I am fearful that it will not last very long. You will need a big box to keep the various tools and hoses neat!

This is the first vacuum cleaner I have had with such up to date technology, so I was very interested to see how it compared with my previous model, also a compact, bagless unit that was several years old,it had always performed effectively, but was somewhat heavy. The Vax Air Total Home arrived neatly packaged, an attractive stylish unit with a complete range of tools that fitted together easily. Wih my last cleaner I had to buy the turbo-brushes separately, so I was very pleased to find them included this time. Having pets, I have found them invaluable in the past, as I'm sure the antibacterial filtration will also prove to be. My husband commented on the overall excellent quality of the unit and the accessories, especially the telescopic action of the extension tube which he described as a smart piece of design. The unit is light to use, easy to manoeuvre around furniture, and has considerable suction power, much greater than my previous cleaner. The dust container has a large capacity and it is useful to be able to see when it needs to be emptied. All tools attach easily, and as advertised, the additional stretchable hose does indeed reach to the top of the stairs without the need to carry the cleaner up too. I find this a great asset and another benefit I have not come across before. I did have a brief moment of apprehension to find that suction control does not have a variable switch, but is controlled only by sliders on the hose handle and turbo-brush. However in use, this method of control proved to be just as effective as a switch, so it was only a very fleeting concern and quickly dispelled. This ia a very efficient compact cleaner, easy and light to use. It cleans thoroughly in all areas of the home, and I am very impressed with its performance.

I was impressed with this vacuum as soon as I started to use it. There is a good selection of tools and the suction is very good. The turbo brush & the hard floor tool have swivel heads making it very easy to manoeuvre. I have used it on carpet, stairs, laminate flooring, tiles & furniture & am very pleased with the results. The dust container is a reasonable size & is very easy to empty. To top it all off the C89-MA-T comes with a SIX year guarantee making it a very desirable vacuum indeed.
