I would not recommend this company to anyone, we had so many issues from the start of this trip which caused a lot of stress and inconvenience, including additional fees we had to pay. Firstly, when our confirmation was sent, the dates were incorrect, not sure why that detail had not been checked prior to it being sent to us, I spent a lot of time on the phone on numerous occasions trying to have this corrected. We were also supposed to receive all the documentation but this was never sent to us, instead we had to contact them to have this Information sent a day before, which left us little time to plan and prepare. Additionally, the details provided at that time were incorrect and we had to contact them again several times to make sure we had the correct details. This had caused a lot of stress, and a lot of time spent trying to resolve the many issues faced. Secondly, the transfers from Rotterdam to Amsterdam were not clear, as transfers are normally to the hotel but this was not explained to us clearly, due to this we had to purchase a hotel closer as it would have made it almost impossible to make it on time to attend the activities that we had booked. We had also asked if we could get a different hotel but we were told not, so we had to pay this from our own money. Further to this, you had stated that the hotel would be upgraded to a 4* hotel but the hotel that was booked for us was 3*, so we were given misleading information. The stress that was caused almost led us to almost cancelling the whole trip and we did not know which other issues we might face.

First they tried to shun me by changing the 4 star hotel I paid for to a room in a HOSTEL with a shared bathroom, then were evasive when I challenged them. Now my flights have been cancelled one month before departure and they didn’t even tell me!! I contacted them and asked for a refund as I can no longer go on the holiday I paid for & they refused and said I can have a voucher! I’ve tried calling them and they always say the only person who can deal with my issue is busy! Do not waste your money, this company is awful!!

Sadly this holiday would have been cheaper if I'd booked it myself through the same airline and hotel. It cost me £388 altogether via Wowcher from Manchester to Prague. The exact same holiday would have cost me £360 if I'd booked it myself for the same dates.

To be honest if I could give minus 1 star I would!! Booked this break as a xmas present for my friend. We were away when someone telephoned to say we were going to Berlin. However, the dates she gave did not correspond with the dates I gave as available. She then gave me Milan. Thought perfect 4i hours somewhere we haven't been. She then asked me for £98 for transfers which I paid. Upon receiving the travel documents there was no transfer voucher. After numerous emails asking for this I was told " the pay mentioned was for traveling to a regional airport". Asked for the call to be listened to. Was told they don't record all calls. Though it is what it is just go and enjoy the break. 12 days prior to departure I have still koto received the flight details to log in and sort seats etc. After a few emails to to person I'd dealt with before I telephoned to be told she is on holiday. MY ADVICE IS DO NOT BOOK ONE OF THESE. WHAT A TOTAL SHAMBLES OF A COMPANY. TO DATE NO APOLOGY.

Everything was going great, I was going to Venice and then the floods happened! The City is flooded, everything is reportedly closed but Weekender Breaks will not refund my trip and expect me to continue with the holiday or loose all my money. If I wanted a holiday to Atlantis I would have booked one but walking round a very wet city where the primary attractions are all closed because of the extreme high tides is pointless. I am disgusted that their lack of customer welfare expecting people to travel to a place which is still on a State emergency!

That's why you take out travel insurance.

It wasn't covered because the Holiday was still available and most of the city closed as a result of flooding but not because of the flood wasnt enough. :-(

We would have been happy moving the break a couple of weeks till the water subsided but my post was the fact that there was no flex in the customer service. It was "this is the date, go and not be able to see or do anything or lose your money"

Just like most of you I got trapped by a Wowcher deal - I can’t believe this thing is still legal. What in earth are regulators doing! I went through about 20 reviews on here an they are all more or less identical. What are potential breaches: 1. Misleading advertising carried out by Groupon and Wowcher stating that it’s a ‘deal’ and we are making a ‘saving’ where in reality they just pick the cheapest hotels and flights plus add a 50%-100% profit margin and on you go to your bargain holiday 2. There’s definitely a Misrepresentation, defined as ‘The Misrepresentation Act exists to protect consumers from false or fraudulent claims that induce you into buying something or entering into a contract. It also allows you to claim damages.’ in consumer law 3. High pressure selling, which is also now illegal. Remember when those weekender breaks agents pushed you into getting that ‘other flight’ or ‘other destination’ for supplementary charge? Also trying to call at most inconvenient times, like during the office hours, to make sure we don’t think it through. Another one is saying that if I don’t agree now, I might not get such a good deal, which leaves me no time to check what is it I’m actually getting! I never heared of the travel agents that tells you to Agree to their ‘deal’ before they disclose how awful that Super expensive hotel is going to be. Anyway, I don’t believe I’ll get my money back, which is upsetting that in the modern day this is still happening but am going to take it to all institutions that I know deal with these kind of claims/complaints.

i have had the same experience, Booked a hotel next to the Vatican to discover its 2 miles away and I'm travelling with my disabled daughter. They didn't give a dam. I also had to confirm booking before discovering where hotel was

Whilst I knew that buying a groupon was a risk I did not expect the break to cost me so much more than if I'd booked it myself. Ive just checked prices online and I could have booked the exact flight and hotel for £102 cheaper for the two of us. The groupon deal is clearly a scheme to fill low cost unwanted places, so then offering alternatives at more than the online price. I find it hard to comprehend that my groupon deal included flight and hotel, my upgrade flight cost £58 return; yet direct with Ryanair the flight is £49.99! What has happened to the flight within the groupon deal? Still a lesson learned, next time book it myself, that way I have freedom to choose exactly what suits my needs best.

Found out within 24 hours that I wouldn't be able to fly at the time of the holiday and emailed them straight away, had a massive back and forth with them trying to get my money back and they were only offering £50 back from a £300+ spend. DO NOT use this company if you're booking ANYTHING as they charge extra for transfers and try to book you on excursions but charge you twice as much than if you booked it on your own. Absolutely livid at their customer service. Cannot stress how much I regret booking through them!

I wish I had seen this website this time last week, before I brought a Groupon voucher for Weekender Breaks. I'm so cross with myself that I didn't check them out first. Having paid £258 for two vouchers the company rang me at lunch time, not evening as requested. There was a lot of tooing and froing about how tricky booking what we wanted was bad flight times etc. We settled on Frankfurt and I was told decent flights were another £35 each, then the hotel they offered was awful so another £20 each to upgrade, a total of £110 on top and a total of £368. Having confirmed them to go ahead I googled the same dates a the hotel and found it was £47 a night so 3 nights for £141. Alarm bells rang and I checked the flights and found the exact flights for £57 each, £114 in total. Total cost for the break for 2 if I had booked it myself = £255. £113 wasted, down the drain, never to be seen again. Guess how furious I was!! I emailed them almost straight away to cancel and they rang me to say "Too late, that's what you get for booking with a company like us"!! PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS GROUPON DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOOK WITH WEEKENDER BREAKS, IF YOU HAVE BROUGHT ONE GET GROUPON TO REFUND AND BOOK YOUR BREAK YOURSELF AND SAVE OVER £100!!

Same happened to me!!! And to top it all the room I got was with spiders and cobwebs so seemed unclean. They rooms where different from the ones advertised. The hotel confirmed they were budget rooms not regular rooms. Double bed was two single beds which they couldnt put together so we had to put our mattrasses on the floor to make a whole bed for a couple. Whole experience was horrible and embarrassing.

Please do not buy from Weekender Breaks,(I mistakenly bought a Groupon voucher for Budapest from them!) was asked to pay an additional £80 whilst booking my holiday, for a flight time leaving at 9pm from Budapest which on the Ryan Air website directly is available for much less. The total cost of the holiday from Weekender Breaks amounted to £318 and if you purchased the same flights and hotel on your own it would be £212There is nothing good about this company! DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

Little bit of an unfair review if it's based on that alone. They are a business trying to make a living of course it's going to cost you more than it would do if you had booked the trip yourslf. How else would they make a profit and stay in business? They didnt set up to do people a favor - that wouldn't pay staff wages and overheads would it?
Written on: 10/04/2017
I have no problem with the fact that businesses need to make a profit, and I understand this well. The problem I have is with the lies they told on the phone for demanding extra payment. They also mis-sold their package on the groupon website. Therefore, I have a problem with them lying to customers and acting on a basis not with honest businesses making a profit.
Written on: 11/04/2017
Have you read all the other reviews about this company? If this business wanted to make a profit they should act professionally and not coerce extra money from their customers unnecessarily. I would have used them time and time again if they had acted honestly and professionally. Instead they coerced me into paying extra for 'better flights' which turned out being the only flights from that airport on that day, told me my hotel was in the centre of Rome which is was not and the taxi transfer from the airport took several hours to arrive and told us that it would be half an hour when we first enquired when we first landed so another untruth.I will never use Groupon or this company again. If this is the way you think businesses make a profit you are very much mistaken

I had purchased a holiday from wowcher. When trying to book this holiday I was told I could not have the date required from the selected airport which was stated on wowcher as available instead I was hard solved to, pressured, forced and stared into paying extra to fly from another airport. As the advisor called several times to pressure me into paying extra. The price started at £30 and come down to £15 per people, the advisor stated there was not supplement charge however on the paperwork she has lied as this is what the charge has stated. I believe I have been ripped off to pay extra money. This is an unjust and I feel like I was under duress when agreeing to this as the adviser knew I said I could only travel on 25th or 26th February which was what was offered when purchasing the voucher as she exploited this to financial gain extra. If these date was not available from selected airport then it should not have been advertised when purchasing the holiday wowcher.

i bought a voucher for 2 nights in Marrakech booked the date that was more convenient for me when one of the operators of weekender breaks called me to confirm my datas he told me my inbound flight was scheduled for 6 am meaning that i would have had to to to the airport at 4 and my holiday would have been just one day and half, i asked if he could change my flight, he said he could but i had to pay around 30 pounds each for person i said no and said i would have taken the flight at 6 am. Then he started to talking about how hard would have been to get to the airport at 4 am, that there was no public service and the taxi would have been very expensive. in the meantime i checked on internet. he had me at the phone for more than 40 minutes when i said i wanted to take the 6 am flight and that it was my business how i would have gotten to the airport. Everything was fine but then i got called again by the "manager" that tried to talk me through about choosing the other flight and pay just 28 pounds for the flight at 9 am. again i said no and after another 20 minutes he confirmed my reservation with an e mail, 2 minutes after i read the email he called me again saying that the 6 am flight was not available and he started again with the blabla 9 am flight . Then suddenly Marrakech was not available anymore but i could have chosen Rome or Venice, which is very stupid because if i wanted to go to these places i would have just bought a ticket to go there. the only dates available for marrakech were 5 months after i wanted to go. after other 40 minutes they told me i could have added an extra day to my trip and take the 9 am flight. 3 days before going to marrakech i couldn't do the check in I had to call 3 times, they were like "did you clicked on check in?" "did you put the reservation number?"...... and so on like i was the idiot. at the end of every call they would send me an email with the same reservation and card numbers that didn't work the first time i tried. when finally they sent me the correct card number they didn't even apologise. this company is completely useless and they robbed me of 3 hours of my life. these people are imbeciles and unprofessionals.

I have experienced identical issues. Have paid £100 more for 'preferential' flight times and having requested the login details to check the actual price paid by 'Weekender Breaks', it totalled £50. This, combined with the current advertised rate for our room, means I have spent £180 more than if I had just bought the flights and hotel myself. So the groupon 'deal' I was sold has ended up costing me significantly more. Does anyone know if there is anyone I can take this to in order to get some answers/compensation/refund etc? As we are not due to leave until December and would rather cancel the whole holiday than give my hard earned money to these guys!

My experience was exactly the same, I tried all ways to get a refund without success. Please report this company to ABTA. If more people report this company, surely ABTA should do something about their trading practices. It's nearly two years since I had my experience with this company and I'm still extremely angry with how I was treated and coerced into paying extra unnecessary money for a 'cheap' weekend break

My boyfriend & I have recently bought a groupon for Rome Venice and Florence for 6 nights. Upon buying the groupon we chose the date option we knew we were able to go. This is something you have to do before paying so you assume it's legit. I am a nurse and my partner works shifts so we were limited as to what dates we could go. So we chosen the dates we knew we both had off. The next day an advisor from weekender breaks contacted my boyfriend. Informed him that for the dates we had stayed, Rome was not available through there 'suppliers'. Proceeded to offer an extra night stay in both Venice and Florence to 'make up for it' however that cost a further £80. This angered me so much because the groupon was stating £248pp for all three locations. Therefore surely if one location is not 'available' a person should not have to pay extra to cater for this. Weekender breaks informed me that they were going to speak to THEIR suppliers to see what they could do about adding Rome to our package. They told me they would ring back within 24 hours however 2 days later I had to ring them back. After ringing the company on three occasions I finally got in touch with the advisor I had previously spoken to. He informed me that he was suddenly able to add Rome onto our package for £98pp!!!!! For the same dates I originally wanted!!! When I asked why Rome was suddenly available for the same dates but for an additional near £100 he answered with 'I had to use a different supplier' VERY convinent!!! I then said although all of this was disgusting we would be happy to pay the £98pp for Rome as Rome was the whole reason we bought the voucher and is somewhere we both really wanted to go. I said I was happy to pay the price-aslong as the previous £80 supplement for staying an extra day each in Venice and Florence was refunded (as this would no longer be needed) perfectly acceptable if you ask me. Unfortunately he has said that it will not be possible to refunded that charge anymore due to no-refund policy....but happy to take £198 off us??? Don't think so. So as it stands we have had to settle for Venice and Florence for 3 nights each (at additional cost) Might I add that we haven't actually gone on holiday yet and we are both worried as to what we may face on our journey. Disgusting company.
Written on: 03/02/2016
Trying to deal with an issue with our group on too. I don't understand why you have to pay for extra nights in Venice and Florence when you have paid for Rome! Surely if they could give you Rome on the dates you requested there shouldn't be extra costs as that was the groupon??
A rip off company!
We're only doing Venice and Florence..our flight to Pisa! Gets in at 2310...last train to Florence is 2230!! ..good booking eh?

I booked through Wowcher for a 4 night trip to Prague and Budapest with a train between the two countries. Instead,I'm flying to Budapest instead, a day late and having to sit on a coach for 8 hours, all for an extra £60 on top with my 10 year old son. I won't even go into the pathetic,half-incoherent absolute tosh they spoke!

I booked a weekend break to Amsterdam with after seeing the add on wowcher. I phoned and booked through them that way, I asked the guy I spoke to on the phone if the hotel was central as I've been to Amsterdam before and it's best to have a hotel in the centre to minimize travelling time and get the most time possible in the destination. Well anyway after it was booked and paid we looked at where the hotel was to make sure it was central like I was told on the phone, and lo and behold it was not central at all, in fact it was a 25 minute tram/taxi/bus route from the centre and in the slums of Amsterdam. I quickly raised this issue with the customer service department to be told that it had been booked and there was nothing that could be done. after explaining that I wanted the call listened to as he had lied on the phone and told me it was central I was told not all calls were listened to (how convenient) and that if we wanted to move hotel it would cost an extra £145 EACH or something ridiculous extra on top of what we had paid. obviously we had been looking on wowcher for a cheap break so this wasn't an option. the staff were rude and most of the emailing conversation the manager actually thought I was complaining about the hotel not being near an airport which if he had read the emails properly he would of realised that wasn't my issue at all. Disgusting money grabbing company, AVOID at all costs!! you're better of booking separately as it'll work out cheaper in the long run.

The same thing has just happened to me. Only they are saying the phone call was recorded and that I didn’t ask this. Not only did I ask it 3 times. That is, how close is the hotel to Amsterdam centrum but I was told 0.2km 3 times. And listed medical reasons as urgency. They’re now saying that i don't tell the truth, saying I didn’t ask that. I’ve just requested access to the recording if they’re saying they have it. I bet their story changes now.

I dont have much money, but I wanted to surprise my husband with a trip to Iceland as we have both wanted to go for years. i found what I thought was a great deal on Wowcher, and bought it for the dates i needed. All seemed fine, until they called me to arrange dates. For a 2 night trip the flights would of given us just over 24 hours in iceland! Had to pay to change the flights and then pay extra to add transfers in. I stated that I also wanted to go to the Blue Lagoon and booked the excursion and transfer. I later discovered the Blue lagoon was shut when our trip was planned, The cost of changing the dates cost the same as the original holiday cost. Ridiculous. So i said I would accept a refund, which they acted as if i should be greatful for! The refund didnt come through, so i called up to what was a real shocker. They blamed the paris terrorist attacks on me not getting my refund!!! I couldnt believe it! I had requested the refund almost a month before the attacks. Im not going on holiday until january and I can only imagine what other problems I am going to encounter with the company before then. I wish I had never booked through this company. the holiday of a life time seems tainted. Terrible terrible company.

I too didn't have much money to spend on a treat and what a treat it turned out to be, NOT!!!
Bought the groupon(why such a high profile company wants any association with these people is beyond me)for Berlin Christmas markets only to be sent to Frankfurt, not so bad until you realise Ryanair only flys into Hahn airport which is 1hr45mins away from Frankfurt city where the markets are! Ok so we get there at a reasonable time, however the return flight is a red eye flight(always cheap) which means we have to get the 3am bus from the delight that is Frankfurt main station. I work in London and travel extensively on the underground network there, this has not prepared me for the filth and squalor that greets you at Frankfurt main station, junkies, drunks and beggars all over the station and at every exit/entrance, I'm not looking forward to waiting for the 3am bus there! Wish me luck!

Hi, same here, the group on promises all sorts of delights but weekender breaks does not deliver! Trying to swap my blue lagoon trip for a golden circle as I'm told my excursion doesn't include the entrance to the blue lagoon. Was rushed into 'confirming' my trip by the guy who booked it for me which I think is a tactic to avoid going into details of your booking and the no refunds policy. Since the booking, no end of issues and poor customer service.

I cannot recommend this company in any way. What appears to be a nice little deal won't be. You will get flights that are last thing in the day and first thing in the morning so that you effectively lose almost 2 possible days in your destination. You can change this, of course - for a price. Good job we did because had we accepted the original return flight we simply could not have made it to the airport in time unless we took a taxi......130km. Since we were reliant on public transport and the peak season was over the public transport services were reduced to low season services. It took us 8 hours to get to the airport from our hotel and our flight was at 18.30hrs so we could not have made a morning flight - simply not possible. I had made enquiries to Weekender Breaks several days before we left asking specifically for information about the transport services. We got a reply - the day AFTER we arrived home. The hotel in Lake Garda was lovely, but located at the most Northern end of the lake - ridiculously bad planning on the part of the agents. Also, the advert said we could choose out of 2 hotels - this did not happen, we were just allocated one of them. Having arrived home I have received an email from one of the employees at Weekender breaks which did not address the enquiry I had made about travel at all. I had also previously telephoned and when I EVENTUALLY managed to get the call answered the man I spoke to had such a poor grasp of English all he could say was 'thank you for the feedback' repeatedly. Emailing is slightly more effective but unless it is directly related to tickets or payment DO NOT expect a timely response, or even one that deals with your query. I have now submitted a formal complaint which resulted in an email from the idiot that I was complaining about saying my comments had been noted!!!!! Bad planning and bad customer service.....these people clearly do not even understand how to address a formal complaint. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

My partner and I booked a 3 night break to Lake Garda, Italy via the Wowcher website. Having just returned from our trip it transpired that we purchased a 3 night break in Montichiari, which is a good distance away from Lake Garda. Montichiari is not a tourist destination. My partner and I felt we was staying in a hotel located on what we can only describe as an Industrial Estate. There was only a supermarket and Sushi Bar close by. No other amenities or attractions to mention. The hotel was pleasant, however more aimed at formal business functions as opposed to tourists wanting to relax and experience Italy. I am extremely upset and disappointed and have written a letter of complaint. Anyone wishing to purchase a holiday/ short break with Viva Tours or Weekender Breaks, please double and triple check what you are actually purchasing. I believe I was completely mis sold my holiday break as it was advertised and described to me as a 3 night break in Lake Garda, not Montichiari. Hasten to say, neither my partner or I will be booking with this agent again.

Bought a 2 day weekend Xmas Market break to Florence. Dates I requested weren't available, only flights available were from Stanstead with Ryanair who don't even fly in to Florence. This is such a bloody joke, look at flights and hotel this company are offering, not even half the price if you book direct. Lesson learned, never, ever going to even look at these deals again and am going to complain to Trading Standards. Bullish sales techniques, steer clear. Let's bring this company down.

I purchased vouchers for Iceland on groupon only to find that we needed to pay more than double for the dates we wanted- despite the indication on the grouping counter that we were the only ones who had purchased for those dates. The hotel wasn't prepared for us, they had been overbooked and people were needing to go to alternative hotels. Iceland itself was lovely, just as we pictured, however the weather was poor meaning our whale watching your was cancelled- no one informed us of this and we went to the tour departure point anyway, where we were told we would need to claim a refund from weekender breaks. We did so and were told it would take 28 days for them to investigate- I never heard back. I chased some months later and then was told the claim had been upheld and we would receive a refund with in 5-7 working days. I am sadly still waiting! Don't let this put you off Iceland though- it was amazing!

The refund has finally come through- but not before they missed the refund time again twice and then tried to tell me that by rights, they shouldn't have given me any refund, as it was a "no refund" policy.
I took great delight in explaining that this policy applies only if I try to cancel- when they cancel, they are obligated to provide another, appropriately matched tour, or refund the money.....

Did you request the refund over the phone or email? Their operators are extremely unhelpful and rude, yet all of my emails have been ignored!

All over email, so I could have a written record. I found they generally responded fairly quickly, but they just were very tardy with their timing to action the next steps. Make sure you check they refund the right excursion- they tried to refund a cheaper tour initially.

So my boyfriend and I saw a great deal on wowcher for a 3 night Venice 3 night Rome through this company. After ringing time and time again to only get hung up on we finally got through to an operator, who told us the dates we wanted were available and to buy the code and then gave us a number to ring them back. We bought the code and did so, only took us two days to actually speak to someone! Then turns out the cost of the trip wasn't what we paid for and wanted an extra £118 each from us! We were able to get it down to £38 as they wouldn't refund us the money, would only exchange for a different trip but nothing was suitable. To add insult to injury when we looked back and booked all the same things ourselves separately it came in a whopping £100 cheaper. We were also told we would be emailed a confirmation and still haven't been sent this. Do not use this company, in my opinion they are scam artists and more hassle than it's worth. Just book it yourself. Wish I had read these reviews before going through all of this. I'm not normally one to complain and am quite a relaxed person but currently I am writing to both weekender breaks and wowcher to complain. Stay well well away.

honestly they are the WORST!!! i wish i didn't go through wowcher and through weekender breaks, what they advertise is not the real price at all, and unfortunately they talk so fast on the phone and tell important information after paying them. Honestly they should be sued for poor costumer service that they provide
