Turkey Bitez, Aegean Pro Dive Centre

I dived with these guys last year after having a bad experience the year before. I am not a beginner but also not a veteran diver (30 logged dives) but was quite nervous about diving again. I expalined this to the guys on the boat and they were terrific in getting my confidence back both dives on the first day were me and an instructor only and they kept me to a depth (20 metres) that I was comfortable with. They were great with my kids too. Lunch was ok, nothing to write home about but perfectly edible. If I wanted a gourmet experience I wouldn't eat on a dive boat! Saw wrecks on later dives and plently of marine life

We have dived with Pro Dive in many countries so expected this to be similar quality/value. We emailed the centre 3x to discuss our wish to dive ONLY wrecks as we live in New Zealand and have world class diving there for fish life. We were assured we would do 3 dives, at least one a partial penetration wreck dive. As we boarded the boat we asked which wreck dives we would be doing that day and were givin no answer. An unbelievable amount of people then boarded the boat, gearing up took forever, and we were taken NOT to a wreck dive, but a dive almost completely devoid of any life whatsoever. After anchoring in a small bay with 2 other huge people floaters while non-divers snorkled around and beginning divers took their certificate dives (4 hours) we then headed out for another fish dive. At that point we complained, explaining we were assured wreck dives and had specified we would not dive if there was no chance of seeing the wrecks. The manager of the trip yelled at us, told us he'd need to see the emails to believe us (but did not follow up on this) and said they never dive wrecks. THe lunch that was provided was (no kidding) was cans of vegetable soup mixed with a generous portion of canned peas over cheap white rice. I could not have eaten it if I were not starving. Instant coffee and other hot drinks were 3 TL each. It is by far teh WORST dive experience we have had anywhere in the world. BE WARY OF THIS COMPANY!

I have been diving with Aegean Pro Dive Centre three times and have always found the a safe and reliable company to dive with and would only dive with them when in the Bodrum area the staff are helpful and the meal on board is always good almost as good as the diving.
