A Great Holiday For All Families.

I travelled to France this summer for a PGL family holiday to the hamlet of Hameau Les Ages, near Brive la Gaillard, in the Dordogne region. My 12 year old son and I flew to Toulouse Aiport, hired a car and arrived at the centre 2 hours later. From the minute we arrived we were greeted with smiles and friendly and helpful staff. The rooms had everything that we needed; beds, chest of drawers, wardrobe and we had our own shower room. All of the buildings at the centre were renovated stone cottages/barns and it was set in very large private grounds.

The food was much better than I expected with a breakfast buffet every morning, buffet at lunch (either at centre or on riverbank/lakeside) and a 3 course evening meal with unlimited wine!

The activites were pre-planned and we were given our own copy of the programme when we arrived. They were all run with safety in mind. From my point of view they were maybe too cautious but then I've done most of the activities before and personally they weren't a challenge for me. But this is not labelled as an extreme activity holiday and I went there for my son anyway.

If you want to get away from it all then this holiday is for you. After 24 hours without TV or telephones (and lots of wine) suddenly life is much more simple. As a parent you can opt out of activities if you want to and sit in the sun and read a book. We had a lovely holiday and wish I could be there now!
