Playa Dorada, Fun Tropicale

I was very worried about staying at Fun Tropicale after reading many internet reviews making comments like "flea ridding hell hole" etc, but personally myself, my boyfriend and all the people we met on our holiday were very happy with this resort.

I loved it so much I really want to go back there asap it was great the entertainment team where brill and great fun for the kids and loads of activities for them through out the day. And there is a adult only pool if you wanna relax. There are 3 pools a children's pool near the kids play area, a pool for every one and and that is where the entertainment is all day and all night, and a adult only pool. And there is a bar at each pool and one on the beach you can also have a barbeque on the beach too yum yum.

As I say, the country is beautiful but there is not much to do and the Fun Tropicale is a 0 rating.

This was the best holiday I have ever been on and I would recommend it to everyone. the food was plentiful and not repetitive at all. The animation team were amazing and the swimming pool was brilliant.

Considering the Dominican Republic is a third world country, I didn't expect to have to eat as the locals do at the Fun Tropicale. This was the first holiday where, as a family, we came home having lost weight. It wouldn't have been so bad if we were able to dine out in other restaurants in the plaza (nearby shopping centre), but the prices they charged were extortionate! We ate once in the steakhouse, and 3 x steaks, 3 x cokes came to £100. This resort relies heavily on tourism, yet they don't encourage the tourists to return with their over the top prices.

I will recommend that if you go, book to go on the outback safari. It was an excellent excursion! You visit a typical Dominican home, visit the local school (take sweets and pens. They are gratefully excepted), swim down rapids and boogie board at the beach. It was an absolute fun day out.
