Could Be A Gem If The Staff Were Not So Rude!

Having free, enclosed parking was a relief. It is unusual in DC. The river front location is fantastic. The neighboring riverfront park had relaxing evening music. The nearby Philips restaurant was delicious. The local fresh fish market was amazing! My family and I were able to walk to the Nationals Park, the monuments, and the museums. The price was reasonable being it is on the river and in a quieter area. Sitting on the balcony was peaceful. It would have been better if we had a river front view as requested. Prior to booking the room, I spoke directly to the front desk and was assured that I would have a river front room. Once we arrived, the room was not available and somehow cancelled. The hotel manager was rude, a lier, and unapologetic. I even had the receipt for proof and he continued to make up excuses. I have stayed in many hotels all over the nation and have never been so rudely treated. The room was not bad. I liked the balcony, the high ceilings, and the extra sink outside of the bathroom. The thumb tacks holding the wall paper up should be fixed. The beds were like sleeping on the floor. And the pillows felt like sacks of flour. One morning I asked a cleaning staff outside my door if I could exchange our towels for clean ones. She said she didn't have any. We used the same towels for three days. We could not connect to the internet and were told to just try again. I saw another guest sitting on the floor in the hall with his laptop. This hotel could be a real gem if the owner would remodel it a bit, and hire a staff that cares about their guests.
