Portugal, Algarve, Club Praia da Rocha

A 13-storey block built probably in the 1970s around a swimming pool complex. Our spacious apartment backed onto the main road, with traffic noise making sleeping at night difficult. The complex looked and felt like an East German military estate prior to the fall of the Berlin wall, with gaps in the fitted units where cooker and heater had been removed. No kettle for tea-making. One of the lifts permanently out of order during our 7-day stay, with all 3 not working on our last day. Staff very helpful and friendly, doing their best to keep the place functioning. Other residents we spoke to said the all-inclusive deal was good value. Take a few towels as ones supplied thin and worn. Need a couple of towels for the pool. Bed comfortable but incredibly squeaky. Stayed end Sept 2015.

We got a bargain with this place, it's not perfect but was really good value for money. The apartment was clean and most important the hotel was close to all the bars, restaurants, beaches etc. Enjoyed the restaurants, the food was nice and pretty cheap, had a really good meal at the Titanic Restaurant.

Praia da Rocha is a really nice resort, was impressed and we hope to go again next year. The beach is pretty nice and we had a lot of fun on the strip in the evenings.
