Kusadasi, Atinc Hotel

Location - waterfront. Right where the action is, man. Literally 4 minutes walk from the Old Town and shops and bazaars. Right on several dolmush routes.

Fantastic views from the front rooms over the harbour, port and marina, plenty of cafes along the broad waterfront promenade.

Facilities - very good. Extremely clean, well maintained, everything worked. Really nice little rooftop swimming pool, plenty of sun-loungers, friendly and efficient drinks/food service. We were there out of high season so the rooftop bar wasn't open, but it was still a nice place to be.

The breakfast/main dining room was imaginatively decorated, adequate for purpose, although we didn't really fancy the cheap buffet lunch/dinner.

However, the Rigolo bar/cafe at the front of the hotel is really good!

Safe-boxes were a good feature.

We didn't try the spa/hammam/massage in the basement, so can't comment.

Rooms are kept extremely clean, we really liked the way the maid pleated the towels/bedcover into pretty patterns each day.

Staff spoke good English and were very friendly and helpful.

This was my first visit to Kusadasi and I really enjoyed it! We found the 'locals' market up the back of town - 2 x weekly fruit & veg, 1 x weekly clothing and tourist stuff - sellers and shopkeepers alike are very friendly, VERY willing to invite one into their shops and look at their wares - but a pleasant refusal never offends. Never saw a single sour face on saying 'no thank you'.
