Icmeler Gondol Apartments

Every body was so nice nice clean apartments no real bad points just about the small pool but everything else was wonderful and I'm definitely going back next year Turkey 2009 Ohh Yesssss !!!!!

The pool and area was too small for us, we like a larger setting, so don't expect we will go back to the Gondol but definitely go back to Icmeler.

We stayed for a week in Icemeler and really enjoyed staying at the Gondol.

Overall our first holiday in Turkey was excellent, after years of going to Spain we will definitely be going back to Turkey and Icemeler and hopefully the Gondol Apartments.

I would definitely recommend the Gondol Apartments and the resort of Icmeler to anyone.

When I book holidays, my main concern is how close my accommodation is to the beach, whether it's decent and of course, the chances of my best friend bartering me for a camel.

When we arrived at the Gondol apartments, the staff were ready and waiting at the coach stop and carried all our things and generally made us feel very welcome! So we dumped our bags in our apartment and went downstairs for a drink. The layout of the apartment complex itself is pretty neat - you have essentially two towers of apartments (3 storeys high) split by a roofed courtyard in which there is a swimming pool, a long bar and an on-site shop to the side of the complex. It is basically set up so, should you be so inclined, you'd never have to leave the apartment complex as everything is there that you need! The bar staff are very friendly and welcoming though they do tend to want to chuck every new tenant in the pool for some reason....I was wearing my new £80 trainers so understandably I legged it before this could happen!

The location of the apartments is within 2-3 minutes walking distance of Icmeler's beach, it also sits alongside the very pretty canal that runs through the town and out into the sea, very picturesque! As mentioned above, it has a shop on-site but is also very close to all amenities.

The apartments themselves are clean, spacious and have all the essentials for your stay, including a balcony (important for those who enjoy chilling out at night with duty free products), they are secure and I was very impressed with them.

The only downside to staying at the Gondol was the fact that the staff were very eager for you to eat, drink and stay there and whilst they do put on a good turkish night, I often felt obligated or guilty about not staying as we were often asked where we were going and why! Also, as is traditional in med type places, the cost of drinks themselves are a mystery and when we wanted to pay up, they insisted we do so at the end of the night or tomorrow...this very relaxed attitude was good in some ways, though we found we could never estimate how much everything would total and found the drinks prices therefore quite high *cringe*

In short, I would definitely recommend Gondol to others as it is an excellent place to stay in but perhaps not spend all your evenings drinking there!
