The Last Stop For Drop Offs Was Bad Enough, Adds U
The last stop for drop offs was bad enough, adds up to 2.5 hours from airport, The Ladik Park Hotel is a long way from centre of town, and rooms appear in need of a paint job, with no facilities in the basic rooms, no tea or coffee facilities, no fridge no phone. We stayed 7 days and had hot shower once. We were charged 4 ytl for 0.5lt water but we complained and it was reduced to 2ytl.
I felt hassled by the staff sometimes, about 9 young men, around pool area wanting me to buy drinks. I felt as though I was treated as a walking cash machine. They confiscated any beverages (water or drinks) purchased outside hotel.
We recommend you stay in hotels on the strip.

It Wasn't Just The Hotel Drinks That Were Expensiv
It wasn't just the hotel drinks that were expensive all the bars around town were the same price approx 9 lira for a small vodka and diet coke. Eating out was brilliant, a starter, main meal ( steak ) for 2 and a dessert to share cost us no more than £17. Food was delicious. Book excursions with the locals as it is a lot cheaper. We used to walk into town approx 15 minutes all on the flat, coming back we used to catch the number three bus back to the hotel, it circles around the town approx every 5 minutes and it was only 1 lira per person. The people were very nice but very pushy most bars have a notice saying "NO HASSLE" 1 out of 10 would actually leave you alone others would practically try to drag you in. Don't think you can fob them of easily as they will keep you talking for ages trying to get you into their restaurant. The worst place for this was the harbor just of the main road, it took me a my husband nearly 40 minutes to walk 400 yards as there was about 20 restaurants all in a row and as you left 1 the next one was waiting to drag you in to look at his menu board. Turkey is a lovely place and we would definitely go again, just the hassle got on our nerves.
