Clean,great Location,great Pool.

Just got back from staying at the club nergis beach hotel,in turkey.Fantastic location to the beach and facilities, pool for example the main one, however, the food could be better ie hot and more variety, its ok if you like patsa n rice, every day.but saying that it is very cheap to eat out.Would recommend natalies steak house for a good steak, situated on the right of club nergis on beach front 5min walk. Also the chinese/indian resturant that is even cheaper ost my partner n i £28 pound for starter main n drinks BARGAIN lol.And for a good meal, again also well worth the money Always resturant, its to the left of nergis on front of hotel, fab staff, lovely food enviroment. In whole, the holiday was very good turkey is a great place to go lots of things todo.A boat trip is a must,we booked through the rep, hassle free. The only down fall for us was the room was on the small side, could have done with a kettle in it,and the tv was all in turkish. The hotel was very clean and tidy, the cleaners were brilliant. If u are going to turkey i would recommend you dont take many clothes, and they are cheap as chips there,if you dont mind buying real genuine fakes. great place. That great we booking next week for next year.

The Majority Of Guests At Club Nergis Beach Will P

The majority of guests at Club Nergis Beach will probably enjoy their stay as it has many positive features and I recommend that you check out the hotels website.

However, the hotel has two major disadvantages: its management and some of the guests. I will explain: despite polite notices outside the restaurant, a small minority of guests prefer to take their meal plates away from the restaurant. Eating a meal around the pool (with the plate balanced on their knees) is irritating to see. Even worse, eating in the public lounge area (where seating and coffee tables are as rare as hens teeth) was very offensive. Management were too weak to stop these practises and the hotel, as a consequence, is on the decline. Management explained that the all-inclusive aspect of their hotel meant that they had to provide a pool-side snack feature but this was never intended to apply to the meals in the main restaurant and they have no excuses for condoning the activities of ignorant and selfish guests. The same applies to glasses from the inside bar freely allowed around the pool with all the inherent dangers of broken glass and cut feet!! Why go to the bother of using plastic beakers at the outside bar when stupid guests take real glasses from the main bar? Management have put up signs forbidding glasses around the pool but do not enforce their warning. A poor show.

Further evidence of mis-management: booking in at the reception can be chaotic and time consuming. There is no system or co-ordination and room allocation is just a lottery. Of all the customer complaints that I heard, the most frequent was room allocation. As an example, I requested sea view from a high floor: I got ground floor from one of the internal blocks in the complex with a view of nothing but a defunct extractor unit. It took two days and many arguments to have that corrected but the alternative was still not ideal. Several large family groups had requested rooms adjacent to each other but they were split up into different blocks. For all others, room allocation was a lottery...and this is what caused the most annoyance: some rooms in some blocks had either stunning views or were of superb decorative order or size but the vast majority were dated or small or both. It is highly annoying to pay the same price as the guy sitting next to you on the plane only to find that he has been booked into a stunning room (without requesting it or paying a fee for it) and you get a poor room (with your documented requests being ignored). For this I blame Thomas Cook and their representatives for not noting what is happening at the hotel.

Notices outside the restaurant request that guests observe the dress code while dining: i.e. no bare chests or string vests for the guys and no bare chests or bikini tops for the females but, once again, this is ignored by ignorant guests who are allowed to dine as they wish and management do nothing. I can only surmise that the cheapness of this hotel holiday package panders for the type of people that do not understand minimum standards of behaviour. I have to add that the majority of guests are from UK!!

Food was generally of a good and high standard albeit repetitive. Chicken is the staple meat and was served every day in a variety of ways. Other days it was turkey and rarely veal. No sign of lamb or beef ever. On two occasions I had an excellent grilled fish. Chips and rice and pasta were the essential, hot vegetables and the salads were exceptionally good and varied. Turkey is similar to Greece with regard to the hotness of the food: buffets were just warm and this was not because the trays had been left out too long, simply because that is their method of preparation. The few Germans in the hotel complained long and hard about the lack of heat on the hotplates!

Breakfast was reasonable although the Brits complained about no bacon. Eggs were cooked to your requirements on the outside grill and were the best I have experienced in any hotel of this size throughout the world.

The hotel complex is proud of the awards that it received over the years and these are displayed for all to admire. The only problem is that the majority of gold awards for excellence ran continuously from 1990 to 1998 and then stopped! Nothing since! This, above all else, summed up this hotel for me: at one time it had an excellent reputation but that has all changed since new management and the concept of all-inclusive has been introduced. But, you only get what you pay for, and this hotel does give good value for money for budget holidays and for those who cannot afford anything more upmarket. I would recommend it for young families or retired couples or those on a budget but not for the more active people who prefer to party into the small hours. The hotel has no meaningful entertainment or bar or lounge facilities to cater for the many hundreds that stay and the young at heart prefer to party outside in the multitude of bars and clubs directly outside the hotel. The downside of that, of course, is that the guests are paying twice for drinks as they are not using the all-inclusive bar that was paid for in their package holiday price.
