if you want a hotel from hell book here telmessos

loud music that keeps you up till 5am although when you complain, the owner can says he can do nothing

over priced water and food because you can not take water or snacks into the hotel.they watch you when you come in and will take the stuff of you .

its more like an 18-30 hotel than what the travel agents say its a family hotel.

the cleaners are polite

the bar staff are rude unless you are a drunk who will spend loads of money at the bar.

the pool was never tested for levels.

we stayed here for 14 nights and that was 14 nights no sleep, the rep is unhelpful and rude and sticks with the manager.

My Friends Had Decided To Get Married In Turkey An

My friends had decided to get married in Turkey and as they had stayed at the Marcan/Telmessos before, they recommended it to us, and the entire wedding party stayed at these hotels. Despite their loyal custom and bringing friends and relatives who were spending a lot of money in these hotels the staff did all they could to ruin their reputation and almost my friend's wedding!

There is a big sign when you arrive at the hotel entrances advising guests that they are not allowed to bring any food or drink into the hotel. Staff act as sentries on the door to inspect your bags and they will confiscate anything they like. If you complain you are simply told to leave.

Breakfast is awful. Some bread, cheese and meat and the food runs out by 9am despite breakfast running from 8-10am. The food plates are not replenished and if you are still sat in the breakfast area at 10am staff pointedly ask you what time it is.

Apart from a few individuals, staff are generally unfriendly and will repeatedly try to coax you into attending hotel events, such as the Turkish night we attended. Prices are quoted in sterling, but when you pay in Turkish Lira they seem to charge you well over the exchange rate (which is advertised in the hotel lobby). The Turkish night itself did have a very good belly dancer (an English lady) but the food was disappointing. Several of our party informed staff that we had 2 vegetarians, and 2 children in our party when we booked, but their meals were not forthcoming. When we questioned this we were greeted with a fairly hostile attitude.

The hotels bars play loud music well into the night keeping the guests awake.

Back to the wedding: The hotel would not allow the bride's hairdresser into the hotel, as she was not a hotel employee. Despite the bride's continued loyalty to the hotel and pleading with the managers, they would not relent, instead choosing to shout at her. Luckily we had time to go to the wonderful Gold Finger instead.

If you question a bill, or have any issue which you speak to the managers about they will not help you. They simply refuse to show any level of customer service to their paying guests. During our one week stay we witnessed several unhappy people complaining and saying they would never go back. I myself was very rudely addressed by one of the managers.

Many of our party have decided to return to Hisaronu next year as it's a really lovely place. The people are very friendly, there is an interesting market with many colourful characters on a Monday, and it's close to Fethiye and Oludiniz with it's lovely beaches and the famous Blue Lagoon. However, we will NOT be returning to the Marcan and Telmessos. There are plenty of other places in Hisaronu where they know the value of customer service. This is a real shame for two hotels who had a good reputation and previously loyal customers, but have obviously let things slip.
