Lovely,friendly Staff But Large Resort
We have recently returned from this resort (10th of May) after an enjoyable 7 night break.
When we arrived at the Majesty on our first day, the booking-in process seemed a little disorganised (they could do with some form of queuing system), however the reception staff were very helpful and their English was very good. There are a lot of Germans, Russians and Bulgarians that holiday here and the staff are always willing and able to communicate to some extent in all of these languages. It can't be easy!There was some confusion with which room we booked (our first night was in Park 1, but I thought we booked a Club room). We requested an upgrade to the Club side asking for a quiet part of this section. Sure enough, we were quickly allocated our new room which we felt was much nicer. The balcony can only fit one person and one chair, but this did not bother us. The Park rooms are not so nice, therefore it was worth sacrificing the balcony space to have a more "luxurious" accommodation.
The mini bar in the room was well stocked with beers, water and soft drinks. To have it re-stocked when these are depleted, you have to pay, but with beer (Effes) on tap throughout the resort and water and soft drinks always readily available, it really didn't matter.
Having no tea/coffee making facilities nor iron in the room was a bit of a disappointment but did not spoil the holiday. The bathroom was well stocked with all sorts of little luxuries and the 2 pairs of complimentary slippers were delightful!
Our cleaner did a magnificent job and we left her a little tip to show her our appreciation on our last day. The room was spotlessly clean every day and we had lovely clean towels each day.
The staff here work SO hard and are SO friendly, however a BIG, BIG, BIG THANK YOU ("TESHEKKUR EDIRIM") goes out to NURGUN!!!! She served in the buffet restaurant all day, every day and to say that she worked like a "Trojan" is an understatement. All the staff were happy and willing to make sure you were seated and comfortable, but Nurgun made me and my husband feel SO SPECIAL. I know it was not just us. She was so charming and helpful to every single person that came into the buffet restaurant as far as we could see. She always had a smile on her face and tried so hard to speak to us in English. I tried to use the occasional Turkish word but my Turkish is rubbish!
I hope that the management at The Majesty Club, Tuana, read this and pass our greatest appreciation onto Nurgun. If all of your staff have this special happy, warm, helpful attitude that Nurgun showed, your resort would, I am sure, be rated the number 1 resort in Fethiye!
It was a lovely holiday and we had a really enjoyable time. The only negative would be that the resort was a lot bigger than it first looked and the layout is rather confusing. Getting from the Parks to other parts of the resort seemed to take ages and although we do not have any disabilities, this resort does not seem very disable-friendly (e.g. slope to dining area quite steep and many rooms far from amenities).
Other than that, a big thumbs up to this resort. We would definitely re-visit Turkey, but probably not to this resort as it is a bit too big for us. We would only pop in to give Nurgun a big hug (and say "Hello" to all the other wonderful staff!)
