We Were At The Hotel In Belek Last Week. The Hotel

We were at the hotel in Belek last week. The hotel is on the beach and endless seaview. Great pool and animation our family loved. Very close to the fabulous golf clubs and town centre in Belek.

This Was The Worst Holiday We Have Been On. We Pa

This was the worst holiday we have been on. We paid to stay in a four/five star hotel and have stayed in better two star hotels. The local area has very few restaurants and bars which did not help considering that there was only one bar open in the hotel. There was a big refurbishment going on and so the place was literally a building site in many of the areas with several activities closed.

The bedlinen and the room smelt of cigarettes after the cleaners had been in and to try to cover the smell, they left the windows open.

The Arcadia food was the worst I have ever witnessed in a foreign country. One evening fish heads were served in a tray. No bodies, tails, just the heads cut off and served. People were pretty disgusted. Many of the cooked vegetables were served with meat thrown in so no good if you are a vegetarian. The salads were giving many people stomach ache so there is a possibility that it was not washed properly. There were serving spoons for each dish but some people were using one in all so again no good if you are vegetarian. There were charges in the A La Carte restaurant which we were not informed about before going away. Even the desserts were like eating a plate of vegetable oil they were so greasy. Many people were living on bread and butter because it was the safest option.

The local drinks included soft drinks, lager, saki, the worst excuse for whisky you could ever taste, vodka and a very dodgy coffee liquer. Any other drinks you paid for at a cost of around 10euros (approx £7.50). Again this was a cost we were not told about.

I would clearly say do not go here because it is dirty and a rip off.

I actually went in December not March and several people have complained about this break both in the hotel and to the travel company. I am not one for complaining but this was a shocking holiday. I have travelled around the world and have stayed at some superb locations and this was not one of them.

Like everyone else, I am entitled to my opinion and am entitled to complain when a complaint is needed and in this case it was needed. I am glad you had a good time here, but if you are little travelled, you would not realise that there is a big world out there with much cleaner accommodation, much better food, entertainment provided etc for the same price as we paid to go here.

We certainly will not be returning to Turkey or using the travel agent again. We have been put off this place for life.

What planet is this person living on???!!

I was there at exactly the same time and although a lot of what this correspondant says is true to an extent, he has grossly exaggerated.

Yes there were fish heads served. It was on ONE night and there were a dozen other things to choose if (like me) fish heads aren't your cup of tea! The standard and choice of food overall was excellent. Admittedly, it may not have been to the liking of a portion of the British public I call the "egg and chips brigade".

Yes there was maintenance/building work going on but it was pretty insignificant and unobtrusive and what do you expect at the end of March? When are they supposed to maintain it?

There was entertainment on and the staff and compare was excellent. They couldn't do enough for you and were brilliant with my kids. There were 4 bars open (if you include the beach bar).

Our room was cleaned daily to a very high standard. No complaints here.

It sounds to me like the correspondant is a typical complainer finding fault with anything he can just for the sake of it. There are some people you just can't please and this sounds like one of them. Ignore his comments and don't hestitate to go to the Arcadia if you are planning to.

There Is Everything You Need On Sight At Belek Arc

There is everything you need on sight at Belek Arcadia, if excursions are to be booked you won't be disappointed. It's a 20 min walk for shopping, plenty to take in, cash machines available which can be very useful. Bartering down can be fun, don't give in.
