Edinburgh, Edinburgh Waterfront, Holiday Inn Express Leith

The room was nice and warm in the Holiday Inn Express Leith. Although Edinburgh was highly enjoyable the hotel was disappointing. We were unaware that dogs could stay in the hotel and were quoted wrong price, we did not know the hotel did not serve food, and it was very expensive to get taxi to city centre.

The Holiday Inn Express Leith is excellent, one of my favourite places to stay, would recommend to anyone. Really like this hotel and often go there for a weekend or overnight stay with my partner. Rooms clean and comfortable, buffet breakfast included in price, good choice. You can pick up special offers on the holiday inn express website and stay for as little as £29 a night, which is excellent . Just across the road is Ocean Terminal with shops and bars/reataurants which look out over the water and the Royal Yacht Britannia. You can take your drink outside on the decking on summer evenings and relax. There is also a nice Indian restaurant 2 minutes walk from hotel.

I give them 7 out of 10 for overall stay but recommend you stay closer to the city centre. 7 may be a bit generous but the city of Edinburgh has upped the points. Well done Scotland for having a beautiful historic city. Not changing it too much and having friendly staff in the drinking / eating places.
