Living In The Village Of Deanston Near Doune, Me A

Living in the village of Deanston near Doune, me and my son visited the Gingham house for lunch one day. The owner was not pleased to see us, I thought that she was just in a bad mood but I soon realized that she didn't like that my son was there (3 years old at the time). My son went for a walk around the caf while I was finishing my lunch, to explore (like 3 year olds do). I kept him under close observation making sure he didn't touch anything or run about. The owner came and yelled at me for not looking after my child properly. I was shocked, the caf was nearly empty and my son had not bothered anyone or touched anything! I have never been back and I would never recommend anyone to go there. I think it is for sale now and I hope that the Gingham house will get a nicer owner than the present one!

The Owners Of This B&b/cafe Really Should Think Ab

The owners of this B&B/cafe really should think about another profession as they clearly dont like being pleasant. The man was nowhere to be seen, and the lady was just downright rude. Avoid at all costs!!!!

I Am Amazed At The Comment Of The Guest Who Stayed

I am amazed at the comment of the guest who stayed at Gingham House last year. To be honest, had we read that before we stayed there we probably would have made other arrangements. I am only glad that we didn't read it. The owner and her husband were charm personified and made our stay extra special by arranging a visit to a local stately home that isn't open to the public. They really couldn't have done more for us. We will definitely be back the next time we are in Scotland.

My Wife And I Recently Visited Gingham House B&b I

My wife and I recently visited Gingham House B&B in Duone, Scotland.

I honestly have to say that it was the worst B&B experience we've ever had anywhere. The owner was as unwelcoming as can be.

We arrived around 2:30pm, having flown in from Canada on an overnight flight and not having slept in more than 24 hours. The owner was not happy to see us. She told us check-in was at 4pm. We could drop off our bags, but we couldn't have the room until then, even though two days before she had told us on the phone that we could check-in early because there was no-one using the room the night before. We told her politely that we were exhausted after a long flight and drive. She spat something about her dogs (surely THEY weren't using the room), turned on her heel, walked out and slammed the door.

Apparently, the dogs needed to be in the courtyard, and the owner didn't want their barking at our presence to disturb her neighbours. Funny, as the dogs were already barking loudly, even though we were nowhere near the room.

Our polite entreaties had no effect. We were forced to find a bench in a nearby park and sit there, barely able to keep our eyes open until we were grudgingly allowed in our room at 4pm.

The owner's manner continued through breakfast, and it was by far the most miserly meal we were served by any of the seven B&B's we stayed in during our visit.
