There is nothing negative to report about these lodges. From the minute you arrive, you can relax and enjoy. The owners are like-able and after showing you around the key areas of your lodge, you are left to chill. The lodges are family owned and we only saw John, the owner, when he came around to check that the hot tub was running OK.
They have one bedroom and two bedroom lodges available, the one bedroom and a two bedroom lodge have an inter-connecting door that can be opened up to make one huge three bedroom lodge if required. There is also a separate infra-red sauna situated next to the lodges.
Inside you will immediately feel at home. The lodges are furnished to a high standard. They have all the modern conveniences you will be used to included a dishwasher, microwave, CD system, TVs in all bedrooms and a large TV in the living area with a DVD player. A washing machine and tumble dryer are situated in a cupboard as you enter the lodge. The bath is the deepest one we have seen and the state of the art shower has to be seen to be appreciated. All kitchen appliances are Neff and the huge fridge/freezer can hold all your food and drink easily. Towels and robes are provided, along with white slippers. They even have Molten Brown hand wash and cream, which I was tempted to steal, although I resisted!
Outside is the best bit. Your very own 6 person hot tub, heaven!
This is situated on the decking, which is also home to a patio table with four chairs and a gas barbecue. This looks onto fields where you will find sheep and rabbits. Truly peaceful. You cannot buy a view like that. We had a lovely long weekend and we cannot wait until we can go back again.
The lodges are also adjacent to a Garden Centre, which is owned and run by the same family. The town of Comrie is around a 20 minute walk away, which is handy for morning provisions of milk, bread, rolls and daily papers. The small grocer shop stays open until 7pm most days. Around 7 miles further on is the tourist town of Crieff. Here you will find a large supermarket as well as various other shops to browse in. There is a very good old fashioned sweet shop where you can buy all the old Scottish favourites, as well as delicious ice cream.
To sum up, if you are looking for peace and quiet, somewhere to unwind and get away from the rat race for a while then look no further. I cannot think of anywhere more perfect. We didn't want to come home!
