An Over-priced Shambles
Dear Sir,
I wish to complain about the loss of garments belonging to my wife, which went missing from your hotel last month.
Although we were not staying at the hotel, we were present as guests at the wedding of (my daughter) who stayed there between Thursday, June 18th and Saturday, June 20th 2015.
On the day of the wedding, Friday, June 19th, my wife changed out of her day clothes into her wedding outfit in Room Courtyard 46, which was at that point being occupied by one of the bridal party. She left the clothes – a pair of black leg-ins, a black cardigan, a black-and-white top, and brown fly-flop sandals (at least £50 worth in value) – in the room. With the key card in her possession, she hen attended the wedding ceremony in the adjacent chuch.
When I returned at 1300 hours to retrieve her clothes, I discovered that the key card had been disabled. It was reactivated at the reception and I accessed the room to discover it had been tidied up and the beds remade. I thereafter enquired at reception, who said that they would check to see if the items had been handed into lost property. I continued to enquire throughout the remainder of the day, but received no progress about the matter. We left that evening with no one on the hotel staff still able to advise of whether the items had been found or whether the relevant room service team contacted.
On Saturday, June 20th at 1708 hours I phoned the hotel to request again that someone investigate the whereabouts of these items, which the man who answered said he would. He called back later on to advise that the team manager who was responsible for this was off that day and he would ask him or her to respond to me on their return. On Wednesday, June 24th at 0910 hours my wife called again to check progress and was told they would contact the head housekeeper when she was available. To date I am still waiting that call.
I confess I am rather surprised that it has proved so difficult, both on the day and subsequently, to discover who cleaned Room Courtyard 46 between midday and 1300 hours on Friday, June 19th and to ascertain whether they found have the aforementioned clothes. I would have thought a member of staff would have handed them in somewhere.
Sadly, this has proved to be not just an instance of mislaid garments going astray. From first enquiry on reception on the day until now the overwhelming impression that as been given is that your hotel staff appear not to be particularly concerned about their fate
Unfortunately, talking to other guests staying as part of my daughter’s wedding party this is not an isolated incident. A bridesmaid also lost a set of curling tongs that have never been found. Despite enquiring, my son-in-law and daughter never found the specially-crafted cake decoration from the wedding cake, which again they were dismayed to discover the staff weren’t particularly helpful in respect of. This decoration was bespoke to them and has no particular value to anyone else.
All told, the wedding at Walton Hall cost my daughter almost £10,000. Therefore, in view of this not inconsiderable input into your hotel’s profitability, I would be most grateful to hear from you what steps have been taken to try and locate these items, including interviewing relevant members of your staff who may have handled them.
Yours sincerely,
AND TO DATE - ALMOST TWO MONTHS LATER - WE HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED THE COURTESY OF A REPLY FROM THE HOTEL MANAGEMENT.

First Visit
Just come back from two evenings at walton hall. What a great place. We stayed in a premium room, room 20. Good size, nice and clean, a bit high up for our legs but hey only two nights. The staff were very friendly, couldn't do enough for you. Good value for money.

Walton Hall - The Taste Of Luxury
I went to Walton Hall, near Wellesbourne, the other weekend for a walk with my girlfriend. She had not heard of the place before, so I didn't say where we were going and made sure we went in through the main entrance.
I drove in through the main gates, over the lake and up to the manor house. A more splendid approach to a location I have yet to find. We decided to go inside and have afternoon tea. Which was fab. Tea, scones, cake, biscuits in one of the prettiest locations I have ever been too. I also thought they had got the prices wrong, when the bill came, as it was so cheap.
So, in summary, if you are looking for a location to have cream tea in the Warwickshire area. There is no finer location :)
