We waited nearly an hour for main courses after our starters were cleared. They were not busy at this point. When the mains did arrive one was missing. We were told it would be along 'in a minute'. It never came. The meals that did arrive were finished (they weren't that good) and still the missing meal did not arrive. We were naturally beginning to complain. This was met with weak apologies and the staff avoiding coming near our table. One waitress got very agitated with my father (who was missing his meal). No manager appeared (despite requests to see one) and we eventually decided to leave minus one meal. We negotiated (yes we had to negotiate) a reduction in the bill with a very defensive and ultimately rude manager at the bar. The pinnacle of the farce being him objecting to us asking him not to charge us for the meal that never arrived.

It's a lovely location shame about the people staffing and running the place!

We stayed at the Shard Riverside Hotel on Saturday night 13 April 2013 we were very impressed with the service and found the hotel to be very clean the staff helpful

The breakfast on Sunday morning was excellent

Our room overlooked the river with a magnificent view

We will definitely stay again at this hotel next time on the Fylde coast
