Scarisbrick Hotel - Southport

Arriving at the hotel at 3pm we were told we couldn't register in until 4pm. After registering in and getting room key we went to room only to be met with an overpowering smell of disinfectant. Went down to complain and we were told the matter would be seen to. After half an hour we enquired at reception as to whether or not the room was ready only to be told no message had be passed on. At this point the duty manager appeared on the scene and after listening to our complaint said he would accompany us to the room to check it out himself. On entering the room he turned to us and said he couldn't see what the problem was as he couldn't smell anything. Asked if would do anything about the smell he said No because he could see no problem. We then asked for either a different room or a refund he replied that he couldn't give a refund as we had booked through a third party. He did however find us another room, but only after the situation got a little heated.

Breakfast - This is the first hotel I've stayed at that doesn't serve proper coffee in the restaurant at breakfast. The coffee was the sachets of coffee that are provided in the rooms and hot water was available via a vacuum flask

rented a suite at front of hotel shabby dated toilet did not flush bed vibrated as the music below was so loud spa jacuzzi out of order all thro stay russian staff very abrupt and rude shame as the hotel has really gone downhill in the last 3 months it was a firm favourite of ours too very disappointed.food excellent tho chefs have got it right if you comnplain to the duty manager you have to wait for them to see the md how unprofessional.gemini host is like a childrens entertainer all agadoo avoid at all costs until their md gets it right again.
