Portsmouth Inns

I arrived about 10pm on the evening of June the 4th 2014 and was greeted by a friendly member of staff (who appeared to be the only person on duty) and checked in.

The hotel seemed very quiet and I enquired whether it was busy, the chap said they were very busy since the building had been recently refurbished. He showed me to my room which was up 2 short flights of narrow stairs.

The room was very clean, cosy and smelt as though it was newly decorated. I particularly liked the bathroom, the shower cubicle was large, the water hot with a powerful flow.

As I was going to visit my son on a ship the next day for D Day celebrations I knew I would be at sea all day. I enquired if the hotel had any parking. The chap explained they had only 2 parking spaces round the back, showed me how to drive there and said it would be ok to park there for the day.

I was relieved as it meant I could then walk to the Historic Dockyard to meet my son and not have worry about parking.

The bed was very comfortable too and tea making facilities much appreciated.
