Northampton, Castle Ashby, The Falcon Hotel

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday here with a family lunch on a Sunday. We asked to discuss the menu with the chef and saw him a few days beforehand. We had some anxieties about the food due to reading poor/average reviews on line but he allayed our fears and promised good food, giving us a wide and excellent choice of options, including catering for five veggies. We had a really marvellous lunch. Everything was exactly as promised and all three courses were of excellent quality and very attractively presented on nicely warmed plates. The service could not be faulted. Whilst I have no information on accommodation here, I would have no hesitation in recommending The Falcon' restaurant.

The Falcon Hotel in Castle Ashby is located off the main road in a very pretty historic village. The buildings are beautifully maintained and preserved, in keeping with the village surroundings. The food and wine selection and quality are excellent. There are no other hotels, bars or restaurants nearby, but For a 'chain' hotel (Green King) it is excellent.
