Liverpool Street, Travelodge

We stayed for 5 nights at the Travelodge in Liverpool Street, London this August.

The hotel is very centrally located to the financial area of London and within easy walking distance of Liverpool Street train Station and Aldgate tube station.

This is as all Travelodge hotels the bog standard basics of accommodation.

This hotel is in need of an overhaul with curtains loose in our room, table tops showing dents cracks and scrapes and even a light bulb missing.

The room had only one small window which opened only a couple of inches due to the safety chain and no air con so a very hot and sticky nights sleep.

Quite a bit of noise from outside but as you are in central London you would expect that.

The whole hotel could do with better air circulation as it was all warm and sticky throughout the hotel.

The bar/cafe was very small for the number of guests which made breakfast a game of musical chairs. Breakfast itself was the same choice each day, lots of cereal and fruit but you can only eat so much sausage, bacon and beans. Having said that you could eat as much as you wanted so it was good value for money.

Staff very friendly but could do with a few English language lessons to understand what we were saying with our broad English accents.

All in all the hotel was very handy for trips to the theatres and all the sights in London and very close to train and tube.

You get what you pay for and this was a cheap place to stay for our visit to London, all in all good value for money and would possibly visit again.
