Droitwich, Chateau Impney

I was in two minds whether to review this hotel - for the simple reason, it is so fabulous I don't want to find it fully booked when I am next in the area !

The area being just outside Droitwich and only 2 minutes from the motorway.

The hotel itself is like a "mini castle" set in huge grounds with a meandering stream, friendly horses and cattle and is an incredible place to unwind.

I have seen online reviews saying it is "dated" - that may be so but definitely not in a negative way. The winding staircase looks fantastic - as a photographer who does weddings, that alone is a fabulous feature.

The rooms are comfortable, breakfast is thrown in for free, WiFi is availabe (also free) but coverage is very limited. However, that is not a problem as the staff are incredibly helpful and will allow you into a conference room so you can connect.

Afternoon tea and scones (pronounces s con s) and/or sandwiches are reasonably priced and the setting is truly grandeous.

The games room is good fun though I guess it is only rarely used - playing table tennis with light over half a table is an interesting experience. The pool table is free-to-play ... unheard of in this day in age !

The hotel also has a basic gym oh and again, that too is free.

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and to cap it all, the staff are fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble for them.

A full 5 star rating from me on this one.
