We Stayed At The Norfolk Royale Hotel For One Nigh
We stayed at the Norfolk Royale Hotel for one night during the weekend. The hotel itself looks fairly grand from the outside, and indeed inside, but on first impressions, the hotel needs a little modernisation.
Upon arrival we were greeted at reception by a friendly receptionist, and check in was straight forward. There was a member of staff on standby should I need help with our luggage (which we didn't).
Car parking was full out the front, but we were told quickly enough where we could park our car, round the back in a secure underground car park. This was free of charge.
Our room was a newly updated "club" room. It was actually very nice, and very spacious. The bathroom was huge! And more than adequate. The bed was comfortable, and the room was very clean and presentable.
The location of the hotel is perfect, and very central. Literally 2 minutes walk and you're down in the town centre, surrounded by bars and restaurants.
The only minor complaint I'd have was that the room was quite stuffy and no other option but to open the window and no air con. This may sound quite straight forward enough, but our window opened out onto the front of the hotel, and believe me, Bournemouth is a very noisy town at night. In fact, the noise from outside didn't settle down until the really early hours of the morning, so we had quite a sleepless night, which was a shame.
Breakfast in the morning was great, catering for all tastes with a large selection of food.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel, maybe a little overpriced, but nothing to really moan about. All I'd say is, request a room on the top floor looking out to the back of the hotel in order to guarantee a quiet night.
