Ontario Apartments

There was a party of five ladies in our Apartment, three adults and two children. We had no hot water for the full week despite reporting the problem every single day. Each day the receptionist would write down our problem in his little diary and each evening we would come back to cold water. On the fourth day we decided to report our problem to our Falcon holiday/First Choice "rep" , now she was very helpful and told us she had got the water fixed and she had checked the water herself and that she had to pull her hand away because it was just so hot!! We thought oh great a hot shower this evening. Well we tossed a coin to see just who was going to be that lucky ducky who got in to this roasting shower first. I myself won the toss and guess what.. THE WATER WAS STILL COLD!! At that stage we just gave up on getting our water fixed. We went back to our routine of boiling pots of water to wash while we doged our two children along the way. We also asked the receptionist on two occasions to speak to the manager, he informed us that she was aware of the problem and was not available to speak to us. This was the most disgraceful place I have ever had the misfortune to stay in. We payed good money to stay in these apartments and we did not even get our basic needs filled. I would not recommend this to a friend or an enemy. By the way, the room number was 2001.

Good points, the people that you meet at the Ontario apartments. There is always a good craic and fun. I met some really nice people there that I am still in contact with. Bad points, just the food. The drinks are quite expensive, but just go get your drink between 7 and 8 because it is happy hour. Amazing !

Accomodation at Ontario Apartments is very spacious, i believe they all are 2 bedrooms, some 3 bedrooms i think. Large balcony. Fitted out to a high standard. First holiday place i have been where their has been a microwave in the kitchen! There was a TV in our livingroom, only 2 English channels which were CNN and Eurosport - but does have MTV Germany which plays all the English tunes. TV free of charge, but if you need a remote then a deposit is paid at reception. Safe in room, unfortunately ours was not working and they did offer to move us to another apartment, or move in the engineers for a whole morning to pull it out and replace it. We didnt bother in the end.

Entertainment dotted about throughout the day for the Kids. Unfortunately we didnt have any kids, but entertainment for the Adults was on every night after 10am, ie. Flamingo Dancers, Magic Act, Dancing birds etc.

Our Rep was very good. Was able to answer all our questions. And i do highly recommend going to see the Rep Show - but i warn you, its a bit cheesy. We did enjoy ourselves though.

Wouldn't personally go back again unless i was hiring a car. But as i said, the accomodation was a high standard for a 3 star. More suited for a family with children i think. Did enjoy the break though.

P.S. For any of you youngsters going, there is a nightclub called the Crows Nest which is open till about 3am down by the bay beaches. Didnt go myself but heard it was the place to be!

I will never ever go to the Ontario Apartments in Salou again. This is council estate chic at its worst. Patrons drinking all day and most of the night while children run riot. Noisy entertainment ghetto blasted over the pool all day. Ignorant staff and paper thin walls. Pool was freezing, even though it was only mid September. Food was hot dogs/burger type junk. Bar staff can't manage to calculate the price of two drinks and give you correct change all at the same time.
