Excellent Value For Money We Have Just Got Back (f
Excellent value for money we have just got back (Feb 2008) paid £200 for 6 nights all inclusive for two of us. Drink is very good but don't expect much of the food, however there are some very good and reasonable restaurants nearby. Its a bit of a trek into the centre of Lloret but there is a bit going on by the hotel. Also you can use your all inclusive card at three other hotels in Lloret so you can go for a wander and still stop off and get a free drink or a snack if you want. Pool area and hotel in general very clean some of the decor a bit dated but not really a problem. Disco and entertainment on every night in hotel bar.

The Royal Beach Hotel In Platya De Fenals, Costa B
The Royal Beach hotel in Platya de Fenals, Costa Brava is definitely a family hotel (great for kids). It is not for couples who want a quiet holiday.
The clientele - quite a lot of English also French, German and Spanish.
Staff always on duty and nothing was too much trouble.
Most of the staff were multilingual.
Lots of variety in food, and even the faddiest eater could find something they liked.
We were All Inclusive, and the children were issued cards so they could go to the bar and have drinks whenever they wanted. Also the adults could have any alcohol drink they wished for, unlike some AI's where you can only have the local stuff.
Entertainment was geared towards the children. They have play staff and a playroom. Staff seem to be on duty all day, and evenings too. They did a really good job entertaining the children when we were there.
There are 2 free external shows, there is a charge for transport but it is very minimal.
The shows do finish late, so they are not suitable if you have very young children.
You can book to eat at any of the other Tophotels, and this will include transport. This gives you the chance to have a look around other towns and the other hotels in the group. We went to visit the Olympic in Callella. This one is not perhaps as child friendly, but great for adults. I have booked a holiday at this hotel for July 2006
Tip - Book to eat at other hotels early in your stay, as they soon get booked up.
The beach is 3 minutes away, and there are quite a few shops around the Beach hotel, and also a cheap tobacconist. There is also a large supermarket just a short walk away.
There is a good bus route right outside the hotel, which will take you to Lloret town. Tip - Don't go between the hours of 1pm to 4pm as it is Siesta!
The rooms were very clean, and toiletries are replenished daily when the maid comes to clean and make up your bed. If you require extra towels or bedding you can ring the reception and they are promptly delivered.
We did have occasion to mention that on 2 consecutive nights we were woken at 3am with noisy neighbours.
The staff took this very seriously, and they promptly addressed the issue.
All in all, we found the Royal Beach a great place for the kids. We will be booking again!

Overall Not A Bad Week Spent In The Top Royal Beac
Overall not a bad week spent in the Top Royal Beach Hotel. The only big bug bear I have is the smoking side of things and the level of noise. This is obviously no reflection on the hotel itself. I wish there had been a no smoking area (other than poolside) that non smoking families could relax in. Sitting in the main bar entertainment area was not a pleasure at all because of this.
Found all staff we encountered to be very friendly and helpful.
Food was not bad, some days better than others but you could generally find something to fill up on.
