Overated Apartments
The apartment was dull, noisy and small. The fridge was not switched on and there was a puddle on the kitchen floor when we arrived. The staff seemed bored. I think that complacency is setting in at Colon 11.
We won't be back.

Just Returned From These Colon 2 Apts Last Sunday,
Just returned from these Colon 2 Apts last Sunday, after spending 1 week in a studio. First impressions of the reception were impressive, quite opulent with chandeliers and lovely little bar. More importantly the receptionists were friendly and helpful, providing extra pillows, safe keys and anything else needed efficiently.
Our studio was on the second floor overlooking the pool with a nice sized balcony. Only downside was not much sun on the balcony in the afternoon but still pleasant to sit and have a drink for a while. TV in room but need to pay by slot 1 euro an hour, however do not watch that much tv on holiday, perhaps for half an hour in the evening while getting ready to go out so this was not a problem. The studio and the whole complex was spotlessly clean, the maids came in every day and changed the towels and bedding 3 times in a week which was sufficient. Generally the whole complex was kept very clean they were always mopping down the floors and also the lift. The pool was quiet (this of course was in March it may be busier in the high season), There was a good menu for for a snack or breakfast and a pleasant lady serving, friendly without being in your face. We are in our 60s ourselves but there was facilities for older people or for wheelchairs as there is a ramp going from reception to the lift.
Although peaceful inside the complex, outside there are numerous bars and restaurants on the doorstep, especially Mama Rosas which is literally by the pool, although under separate ownership. There is a musician playing while you eat on most nights, and although a trifle more expensive than average a wonderful meal for that special night out.
You can walk or as we did get a taxi for about 4 euros to the parque de las paz area where there is strip of bars suitable for slightly older people, usual music, irish, 60s etc. Just round the corner there is the Safari Centre which is must. Visit Harry's cocktail bar and watch the fountains dance to the music, and have a meal at one of the numerous restaurants, Italian, Chinese, Mexican, a lot of choice. Also if you cross the road to Santiago 3 complex and go down the escalator there is a guy singing who is a really good entertainer.
For the younger ones the Veronicas Strip is only a 5 minute walk the other way from C olon 2 and there they will find all the clubs open till early morning, although I must admit we avoided there ourselves!
Five minutes walk takes you to the sea front with numerous bars and restaurants all along, and you can walk right to Los Cristianos if you wish.
So all in all we had a wonderful holiday and I could recommend this complex to anyone, of any age, at least for a Winter break, obviously things may be more hectic in the high summer
