Parcelas, Dream Hotel Gran Castillo

I stayed in this hotel in October 2014.I can honestly say iv never been so disappointed . This hotel is not a 5* it just about stretch to a 3* and that is being kind.

If your after a peaceful elegant hotel this is not for you. The picture in the travel brochure are not true to life, the description is not truthful.

I will say as a good point the restaurant and bar staff work hard.

I have stayed in Playa Blanca for the last 10 year . I can say I know the area and hotel very well .That is why I want to let you know this hotel may suit some people but for me it has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

The check in is long and disorganised .

The food is bland.

The evening meal is two sitting 7pm and 9pm . We had the 9pm sitting and surrounded by lot of children. Screaming and running everywhere and touching food. Plus you get allocated table, which our table came with two baby chair joined to us for 11 days. This was our 10th wedding anniversary. Not what we wanted plus we had no children.

I have a nut allergy they were not helpful at all. To be honest I struggled . It was exceedingly worrying.

I had emailed the hotel before hand and they assured me they could cater. They really could not. Anyone with a nut allergy will understand what am trying to say. Its very worrying. If you do have a nut allergy this hotel is not from you. I did report this problem but got nowhere with management. So please be aware. Their is hotels out there that are fantastic for people like me which make your holiday a little more relaxing. This one did not. It worried me and my husband very very much. Please be aware.

The only adult quiet area feels like it is in a middle of a housing estate , very squashed not very appealing .

Children have the full run of this hotel day and night. Be prepared for young children to run riot till 1.45am in the morning. while the parent just sit and drink. The noise day and night, is just to much.

The evening there is only one bar and a dungeon, (the smell is awful)just staff dressed up and mime. Their is no real entertainment at all.

The sports bar outside has football on all night till 12pm everyday. Just what we want on holiday ,NOT.

Very poor hotel lot of money for nothing.

It is not 5* in anyway or form. Please if your a couple before you waste your money watch wacky warrior (if I would have seen that before, I would never have booked it) on u tube and then you decide.

Playa Blanca is a lovely resort with some beautiful hotels just a shame this one lets Playa Blanca down. I will not be returning to this hotel.

Back to Natura Palace / Timanfaya/ / for me.

On arrival, at the Dream Gran Castillo in Lanzarote, I rather thought it looks very nice but more of a holiday complex than a hotel due to the layout and did not expect 5* standards BUT couldnt have been more wrong!!

It is laid out very nicely over a fairly large area of very well kept gardens but the service from the staff was wonderful, the housekeeping was immaculate and the food was the best I have ever had at a holiday hotel, and I have travelled widely over many years. The superior room was HUGE with a separate lounge area and then large balcony. The only downside was I had requested an upgrade to a sea view room and we were given a room with a view of the back wall of the building in front, very close to the balcony, so avoid room 4320 if you can as that was a big disappointment but the only disappointment. The hotel has wonderful views, so it was such a shame to be looking at a wall. Otherwise, just go, you will not be disappointed and A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE EXCELLENT STAFF. WELL DONE ALL OF YOU.

We run a busy guesthouse in Devon so were looking for some winter sun and a relaxing break out of season, so chose to go all inclusive. We could not have chosen better! We were pampered and spoiled from the moment we arrived. The room was spacious and well appointed, the food was out of this world with unbelievable choice of dishes at three different restaurants and the staff mwere exteemly efficient and very friendly. The unlimited food and drink though did leave us around half a stone heavier at the end of our weeks stay. We can't recomend this hotel enough.
