Value For Money But Could Be Better

Costa Teguise is a pleasant, quiet resort without rowdiness. Plenty of restaurants and bars and pleasant beaches..I recommend it for 'mature' holiday makers and families. Good position for visiting the island. Best to rent a car if poss. Hotel transfer by cab is 33 euros each way (or No 23 bus to Costa Teguise outside the airport then No.03 from Arrecife to 'Pueblo Mariniero' at Costa T - one change - about 4 euros total) but get a hire car delivered to the airport in advance. Ask On The Beach for the address of the hotel in advance - this will save you a problem trying to find the hotel.

The Oceano hotel is well positioned in the centre of Costa Teguise close to all the beaches. It is a clean attractive hotel from outside formed of apartments around a pleasant central pool and bar area. The room was cleaned every other day and the pool was cleaned every day. I didn't use the pool but there seemed to be ample room for residents to stay there. The room was a good sized twin with a couch and pull out bed, kitchenette area with two rings and a conventional oven... no creepy crawlies. Microwaves were available from the desk as an extra...as were use of the iron and ironing table. Use of the TV was 20 euro - with 10 euro refundable deposit for the control - and wifi 15 euro but the TV was good quality and the wifi worked well in the room and it is worth taking an HDMI cable if you have a laptop...progs available on TV were quite limited.

It is a very reasonable value but watch those extras...you will also need your own shower gel (tiny bar of hotel soap) and of course there will be washing up liquid and kitchen paper, drying cloth and that kind of thing to buy as only basic implements (cutlery and a few pots) are supplied. My reservation was the bathroom which, though clean really needed refurbishment. Loads of cracked tiles poor bath surface and old shower curtain....but the floor throughout was clean and well tiled. The kitchenette needs a facelift too...and tired old towels (though they were changed for clean when the room was cleaned)

So, it was a positive experience overall but it's good value for a reason. On a tight budget you should be satisfied.
