Great Holiday To Lobos Bahia Club, Corralejo, Fuerteventura

After reading negative reviews about this hotel I wasn't expecting much, but this hotel was perfect. We (my self and my boyfriend 23,24) visited Lobos Bahia Club for a week on 3rd September 2011. We got there at 22:30 and the reception staff were very friendly and checked us in and directed us to our room. The hotel is fairly big and our room was right at the back but it was all signed so we found it. The room was clean and big enough for the 2 of us, a little kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, hob and all the essentials like glasses etc. We were on the first floor, (each apartment was a ground and a first) our balcony looked out to the volcano and was private, neighbours couldn't over look you. And our bedroom over looked the back pool. The cleaner came into the room each day and made our beds (including fancy patterns with the bed sheets), they also stated on a sheet in the room that there would be towel changes Tues, Thurs and Sun and this happened. The bins emptied every other day.

We hired a safe which was 32e for the week but you got 12e back at the end of the holiday.

We could also pay 30e to keep the room longer as we had a late flight and so we were able to enjoy the last day knowing we could get showered and ready for the flight.

We were self catering so didn't eat or drink at the hotel, whilst there I heard mixed reviews from people but no one said it was horrific, just that its the same things each day which is all I've ever know from all inc.

The pools were surprisingly quiet and you could get a bed by them at any time of the day. The sun was shining on them all day, there is one large pool separated by a bridge with a Jacuzzi pool and a kids pool attached to one end. And another quiet medium sized pool at the back of the hotel, we found this one quieter. And Yes as other reviews point out there are tiles missing from the pool but I didn't find it a major problem, and I also spotted children diving down and picking the loose tiles off so its not surprising they are missing when its classed as a game.

There is a shop and a supermarket right in the hotel and the location was perfect, Corralejo is a small resort and we had chance to walk all around and see the opposite side of the resort and we were very glad we were up at this end, it was much nicer and the other side looked a little run down. There are a couple of shopping centres close by and the shops were really good, one is a traditional Spanish square with markets and live music at night and café bars. Really good to have a walk around.

The food was great, and not too expensive, our average meal cost around 35e and that was with 2 course and drinks, the most we spent was 55e with 3 courses and extra drinks. There is a great restaurant next to the hotel called TonyRomas that has huge portions, and is well know for steak and ribs, not very Spanish but it was delicious, there was lots to choose from and something for everyone.

There were English bars, Spanish bars, sports bars, rock bars, live music, there was something for everyone. On the sea front near the harbour there were more traditional bars and there is a square there too with Irish bars, Karaoke and discos. There were people on the streets trying to get you in there place but it wasn’t too in your face and you could just walk past. There were also places with free wifi!

The beach was about 10 mins away from the hotel and there are a few beaches that you can go on and each one is very quiet. There is a bar/ restaurant on the beach called Waikiki which was nice at day and night. The sea was gorgeous and calm, and there were quite rocky bits. Each beach was different to the next, we tried them all and loved them. You can walk from one end to the other and you can virtually end up in the sand dunes, but if you wanted to got to the sand dunes there is a bus that runs out to the hotel Rui there from near the hotel and is only a couple of euro.

There are plenty of trips to do, we did the buggy trip that was through the volcano and the dunes and was good fun and this was 50e for 2 and they sold you well needed glasses for 5e on the day as it is a very dusty trip, I’d also suggest taking something to cover your face as I made the mistake and was so dirty at the dinner time break!

Over all we had a fab holiday and would go back again and recommend this hotel and resort to anyone!!

The reviews I read before I went really put me off but I honestly can say this is one of the best budget holidays that I have been on and was such a good price!!

4 Star Accommodation I Think Not. One Good Point

4 Star accommodation I think not. One good point is that it was clean, there it ends. For a "newly refurbished" complex our room was a disgrace. Broken fridge, doors hanging off, view of a wall with a service yard next to it. Corralejo is a fantastic resort, unfortunately Lobos Bahia was poor and very expensive to boot. Would not touch it with a barge poll!!!

Just Got Back Yesterday From The Lobos Bahia Club,

Just got back yesterday from the Lobos Bahia Club, miss it already. Wife and 2 children aged 14 and 12 loved it. Quiet family resort with plenty to do, short walk to the main street. Something for every one, really is, I was surprised. Very close to the water park really can't complain. Worth every cent. Been to all the Canaries Isles for a safe family holiday, this was the best, booking again for next year.
