Just Back From Our Holiday At The Paradise Club Ho

Just back from our holiday at the Paradise Club Hotel were we travelled as a family of 4 including 2 kids of 4 and 14.The rooms weren't the cleanest and smelt damp or fusty, i wouldn't rate them as 4 star. The entertainment at night was pretty poor and we were all a bit bores, which was a shame cos we had been looking forward to decent entertainment especially for the kids.I've been to Menorca 4 times and this was my least enjoyable hol.I preferred the sol hotel in Son Bou for families and it's a much prettier resort.

My Husband And I Booked The Paradise Club Apartmen

My husband and I booked the Paradise Club Apartments in June 2008 to stay for 7 nights starting on the 1st MAY 2009. As I was pregnant with our second child we wanted a self catering holiday of a good standard. We read all the truth guides and information on resort and decided this one was just what we were looking .

Then diasater struck, Direct Holidays rang us late on Thursday the 31st April to say that the Paradise club would not be opening until later in the season. Hence our holiday ruined.

They offered us a holiday to stay in a 3 star apartment this was not acceptable as we boked a 4 star.

We therefore cancelled our holiday with Direct Holidays and asked for a full refund.

I did eventually have a fantastic weeks holiday with my family to

Cyprus which we booked last minute.

Please be aware this could happen to you . Dont book this apartment for anytime before June .

It Is A Great Place, You Can Go Down To The Pool A

It is a great place, you can go down to the pool and staff were friendly and at night you can see entertainment and that was great. The beds weren't the best to sleep on but that's about the worst thing. I would rate it a ten because the entertainment was amazing.

Great Apartments, Great Staff, Great Animation Tea

Great apartments, great staff, great animation team. Lots of things to do at the apartments. Lots of shows on each night. Plenty of places to go and explore. Lots of great places to eat and have a drink. We went out to eat outside for breakfast and dinner every day as the food in the apartment area was not so good. Overall, we would go back again and would also recomend to all our friends to go there as we did have a wonderful time

This Was My Daughter's 1st Holiday And We Were Anx

This was my daughter's 1st holiday and we were anxious as to how good the accommodation would be. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived to the accommodation. The bathroom was excellent it had a shower over the bath and also a separate power shower. The kitchen was pretty well equipped with a fridge, 2 rings, toaster, kettle and microwave. There was also adequate crockery and cutlery. We never cook on holiday so we didn't use it!!

The TV is a flat screen mounted on the wall and has BBC1, BBC2, CNN and CBeebies (which was great for our little one)! The complex has 2 outdoor pools and a kids pool. The larger pool goes from very shallow to 5 foot deep so is great for non swimmers like me. The upper pool is one depth and again is only about 5 foot deep. There is also an indoor pool which we didn't use as the weather was good.

The marina is across the road and has loads of restaurants. The best restaurant was "El Pato". They have a fantastic selection of food and a large kids menu. Just look for the restaurant with all the prams outside!!! The staff are so friendly and made us feel welcome every night we dined there.

"Fontana" is also good and does an excellent English breakfast. We ate there every morning and again the staff are so friendly and work so hard.

For gifts try "Maribel" which is at the Marina. It is a huge 2 storey shop and although it sells the usual rubbish you get everywhere it also sells some beautiful wooden toys and puzzles and they also have a excellent selection of soft toys, Nao ornaments, kitchen utensils and leather goods.

We would definitely recommend this resort and these apartments to any families with younger children.

I Loved These Apartments. The Gardens Are Kept Imm

I loved these apartments. The gardens are kept immaculate. Bed linen and towels were changed practically every day. I can't really comment on the food. We only ate at the snack bar a few times but didn't try out the restaurant, which I think catered for the Spanish more. The Animation team work very hard and the kids had a ball. My son, who is 4, went to the Dolphin club and loved it. The entertainment team at night kept the kids amused with a mini disco. The professional entertainment that was brought in was excellent too. Overall a great place to stay with a great location in Cala'n Bosch.

Just Come Back From A Fortnight's Holiday At The P

Just come back from a fortnight's holiday at the Paradise Club which was very good - relaxing, fairly stress free despite the 16 month and 4 year old in tow.

Had great weather all the time - except for 1 morning of rain. Very family and kid-friendly place. Accommodation is fairly spacious, well-equipped in some ways e.g. Cable channels including CBeebies. Hairdryer separate shower and one over the bath but not sure how great the cooking equipment would be if you were completely self catering (we went half board). Maids cleaned and changed towels every day except handover days. The kids club doesn't cater for children below 4 but we knew that before we went. Entertainment team were fantastic - my kids loved the Mini Disco every night and some of the external acts brought in were very good esp Robbie Williams tribute. Pool was good but can see it would get crowded during peak times with inflatables.

Don't understand previous negative comments about the food - choice very wide considering the number of guests to cater for. Lots of fish, fresh meat etc, chef specials not just chips and beans! Resort restaurants did always offer English/kid food but alongside other dishes.

Always think a telling point about hotels and restaurants are whether people from the host country visit them. Hotel had lots of Spaniards there which was a good sign! Plus at reception one family were returning for the 4th time.

We hired a car for 3 days and checked out other bits of the island - especially resorts! Ciutadella, Cala St Galdana, Fornells, and Arenal en Castell all were good. Also got to some of the quieter less touristy beaches which were beautiful.

Really enjoyed this holiday and would definitely come back!

Ok So The Weather Was Appalling - Rainy, Cold And

Ok so the weather was appalling - rainy, cold and overcast for 5 of the 7 days - which undoubtedly contributed to our bad experience, but it was a poor holidaying experience nevertheless. The resort has no back up plan for poor weather, there is simply nothing to do. No indoor swimming pool, no heated outdoor one. (One review above says there's an indoor pool - that's not true, or at least we were not made aware of its existence!). The kids club and Thursday night "parents night off" was also useless to us as one of our children is just under 3, so she was too young. In addition, there are 15 child places in the club, and there were over 50 children staying at the resort that week, and it was a quiet week.

Foodwise: If you can't do without your tabloid newspapers, your "english sausages" and your chips 'n egg, and you don't like Spanish food, you'll love Cala'n Bosch. But then, seeing as it rained for the week, why not just stay at home? We found the food in the hotel and in resort restaurants (what little we ate of it) to be pretty substandard, unappetising and not cheap either considering the quality.

Outside of the resorts Menorca is a pretty little island and has some really fabulous restaurants serving glorious fresh fish, and without the side-order of baked beans.... The neighbouring town of Ciutadella is really nice and we had truly top class food there on a number of occasions in a number of restaurants. Fornells is another town maybe 30 to 40 km away worth visiting for lunch or dinner.

On the plus side (of the resort) - staff in the club were genuinely friendly and helpful, beer is reasonably priced, there's a big hypermarket in the nearby town (Ciutadella agan!) where you can buy whatever you like including fabulous cheap Rioja Reserva! Car hire in the resort is well cheap, easy and hassle free. Bicycle hire is easy too but the bikes are not high quality. Unlike Majorca there is no option to hire proper high quality mountain bikes or road bikes (racers). Powered two-wheel hire is restricted to Korean 125cc scooters, it's not possible to rent decent motorcycles. Also there's none of the standard resort aimless thrill seeking stuff to pass the time - jetski hire, speedboats, towed banana boats, paragliding etc, none of that, and the beach is ... pretty lame to be honest.

Overall - again I know the bad weather didn't help but - very disappointing, we were glad to leave, and we won't be back.

1/ There is an indoor pool and also a beauty salon

2/ There is 2 kids club at the accommodation - the Tour operators that is located at the top of the complex beside the playground and also the apartments own kids club where most activities seem to be based in and around the pool. When we were there the children were playing the Nintendo Wii, T-shirt painting, face painting and making coloured sand bottles, all activities that can be done in good or bad weather.

3/ I took my 2 year old with me and I certainly wouldn't want to leave her in a kids club!

4/ We found an excellent restaurant at the marina called "El Pato". The menu was excellent and ranged from typical Spanish dishes to your standard steak, chicken dishes.

5/ This is a commercialised resort as is most the beach resorts on the island and all around the Med. I suggest that you go to somewhere "of the beaten track" on your next holiday if you don't want to see a tabloid newspaper

I disagree with this review because it's a lovely resort and very family friendly. There is an indoor pool located in the spa which we were informed about by the rep at the welcome meeting.
