Excellent Short Break!
Stayed for 5 nights in a delux sea view room with my husband last week. Hotel beautiful, spotlessly clean and the spa was one of the best I have ever been in. WE were half board on a special offer, the breakfast was brilliant, everything anyone could want on offer.
The only downside was the evening meal. We were not offered a choice of dishes and were served a set starter, main course and dessert every night. The quality of the food could not be faulted, however not being a lover of fish this caused me a problem as we were served fish or seafood on three of our nights.
I would definitely return to this hotel on a bed and breakfast basis

The Valparaiso Palace Hotel Was Stunning, Our Room
The Valparaiso Palace Hotel was stunning, our room was lovely and spacious, it overlooked the bay and we watched the cruise liners coming & going. There was a safe, mini-bar, pool towels and TV. The bathroom had two sinks, shower/bath, WC and bidet, hairdryer, decent shaving mirror and big bathrobes. The staff were very nice and helpful, especially when they realised we were English (there were a lot of German guests). We also did try to say hello in Spanish. There were two swimming pools open, crystal blue and not a bit chlorinated, birds even drank from the pools. The garden were also nice with water features etc., the whole site was amazing. 'Wow' is all I can say about the buffet breakfast. Hot & cold, a fresh juicing bar, yoghurts etc., continental meats, cheeses, salmon, all sorts of bread, fresh & tinned fruit and Champagne. During the day the Gambo Palace was open serving snacks, drinks & ice-creams, the pool staff were very friendly and would help where ever they could. The evening food was very good but the menu was set, which was limiting to my partner. Excellent wine and bar, each evening a young woman would play the grand piano and there was a recital one evening, it was nice for a change. On site there was also a genuine Burberry shop with the price to go with it and a hair salon. The recently opened health club downstairs was super. We handed in our room key and got the use of the facility. This included, big fluffy bath robes & slippers, two saunas (one standard and one herb) a steam room, a salt air inhalation room, a foot pool thingy, an ice fountain - to rub ice over your body. But best of all were the power showers that rained minted water. Once you did all that, then you followed the candles and soft music to an area with very low beds - these were water beds! We had fun getting on and off them, they were very relaxing, a couple of times we found people snoring! The only thing I would say that this hotel really is not suitable for those with walking problems unless they are prepared to use the taxis. We did walk down the hill past the taxi rank & cash point to the Porta Pi shopping centre (also excellent) which had a Carrefour super market (water & drinks) and to the Porta Pi Restaurant (a must to visit) and got the taxi back up with the shopping. The lanes and roads are very steep. The bus into town (number 3) is at the bottom of the hill, just outside the shopping centre, it covers part of the route of the open tour bus, which you can also get there. It costs 1.10 euros into town on the No.3. We took the open tour bus and got off at the 'flea market' as they call it. On route there is also another shopping centre which looks like a castle. This hotel has got class and luxury, is very relaxing. This kind of luxury doesn't come cheap but you pay for what you get, excellent service and surroundings and lovely red juicey apples in reception!
