The Hotel Globales De America, In Callas De Mallor
the Hotel Globales de America, in Callas de Mallorca, on the eastern coast of Majorca
we are Mike and Sonia,
from the UK, and we would highly recommend this hotel to everybody who is considering on going to the island of majorca, or mallorca as the locals refer to it, the weather was abit sort of up and down, but overall great for the time that me and my partner were there, the view, was breathtaking, hotel staff were very accommodating when it to answering queries, the food was fantastic, we were spoilt for choice when it came to meals, and the deserts, plenty of fresh fruit to choose from, facilities ie, bar snack, pool, beach, local sights, local shops, etc we would definately go there again, the experience for all the time that we were there was in a word brilliant, we were flown through the easyjet airline, and again we couldnt fault for their service, which was great,

I Have Just Spent A Week At This Hotel...i Specifi
I have just spent a week at this hotel...I specifically chose this hotel based on the other reviews and i was not disappointing the cons outweighed the pro's.. So this is a 3 star hotel but i found the views and location better than some 5 star hotels i have seen...The beach although down several flights steps (which could cause problems for some less abled people) was immaculate. There is a maze off bars shops and restaurants in the shopping area which is only a few minutes walk away there were 3 pools all off which were spotless the pool bar offered salad snacks and burgers chips etc along with drinks...the pizzeria again had a fair variety off food and not just pizzas..the main restaurant was again spotless and well served with a wide variety off food to satisfy most people, but if i had 1 complaint it was if you arrive late the food could be a little cold at times (but a micro wave was supplied if required) and the sweets tend to run out ..there was a main bar with comfy seats and a outside area BUT PLEASE BE AWARE THIS IS NOT A SMOKE FREE BAR.I cant comment on all the rooms but my room was adequate a bit basic and well used but clean and comfortable but it is after all a hotel room towards the end off the season All the staff were very polite and friendly and willing to help ...all in all a extremely pleasant holiday and for a all inclusive hotel well worth the money ...Steve and Tracy
should read the pro's outweigh the cons...

I Spent A Week Here In June 2010, Hotel Was Spotle
I spent a week here in June 2010, hotel was spotless, the staff were polite, helpful and hard working. The hotel is very close to a beautiful clean beach with turquoise sea. Food was good and plentiful, with a good variety to suit most tastes. Lots of well behved kids and entertainment is what you would expect for a family type of hotel. Would definatley recommend this hotel. I've also stayed in other Globales hotels which were equally good.

Its All Depending On What Sort Of Holiday You Are
its all depending on what sort of holiday you are after whether you enjoy the hotel and the resort..i wanted a relaxing holiday close to the beach with good food and a lovley view, bit of entertainment and a suntan..i got all of these..the food is great for a 3 star..all fresh and plenty of it.
the staff are all friendly and willing to help..it was immaculatly clean all the time..they are always cleaning..the pool area was lovley..it wasnt full of louts..the views are breathtaking from the balcony..waking up to the sight of a blue sea every morning was fab..the entertainment is just the standard of all inclusive..the same the world over...
the beach is 2 mins away..this hotel is the closest to the beach of all the hotels in the resort..its down a few stairs but it is on a cliff so its to be expected..the arent awful just a few stairs and quite good when i was eating constantly...there are different places to eat in the hotel america..the usual breakfast, lunch and dinner...and in between the pool bar is open for toasties..fresh cheeses, meats ,cakes etc..
there is everything you need in the resturant and a lot of choice..you d have to be hard pushed or very picky not to find something you liked.
we had the family room accomadation and it was really spacious with a big balcony,no complaints...
the town is full of souvenir shops, bars and reaturants...its not huge but well big enough to occupy you...theres a couple of adventure playground type places in the town to entertain kids...its not a party town altho some of the bars are open till the early hours...but then for me with 2 kids i didnt want drunks throwing up and yelling all night so suited me perfectly..this hotel is lovley and i would reccomend for familys and couples..unless your complete lager louts then it wouldnt be the place for you lol.if you fancy a change there are buses just outside the hotel to neighbouring resorts and markets etc..and a lovley way to see the island is by boat.
pros.
immaculatly clean.
great food for a 3 star
close to the beach.
fantastic views and scenery.
nice little town with enough to keep you occupied.
relaxed feel to the hotel.
quiet after midnight.
glass bottomed boat comes up right outside hotel for exploring other resorts for the day.
cons.
could do with a few more tv channels in the evening..only cnn and sports.
air con could have worked better..
a games room for toddlers would have been handy.
but nothing that would spoil your stay.
No Tea And Coffee Facilities, So If You Miss Break
No tea and coffee facilities, so if you miss breakfast you either have to wait until 12 or go to the pool bar, but you are not allowed to take food and drinks inside.
Went with my partner and two children and were very disappointed. There are pool tables and amusements which cost, the entertainment was ok, although bingo was on every night - not everyone enjoys bingo!
The food was okay, but felt repetitive and not too hot. Definitely would not go back there.

Hotel America Is Part Of The Hotel Globales Chain
Hotel America is part of the Hotel Globales chain and is a 3 star hotel. It is in a good position on the cliff above the Cala Domingoes bay, having steps down to the beach. It is a 2 minute walk, if that, but if you are a wheelchair or mobility scooter user it is a bit further to get around to the beach by ramp, but it is possible. Hotel America had quite obviously been modernised in the last few years, the building being an eight floor architecturally uninteresting concrete construction, heralding from the 1970's but it was painted up nicely and all rooms look out onto the Cala Domingoes beach. Everything was light and airy and clean and well maintained.I went in the last week of May as half terms in the UK started. The beach was lifeguarded, which meant that on two days the lifeguard closed the beach for swimming, but the hotel had two adult pools and a 60cm deep kids pool, which was also in the corner most sheltered from sea breezes. We went all inclusive, and the food was of a very high standard. The usual fare was there for the die hard chips and chicken nugget consumers, but also there were genuine fresh seafood paellas containing whole mussel shells and crab, cuttlefish and squid. This hotel also made an effort for the vegetarians with Mallorqui rice dishes and whole roasted local vegetables. I loved the beef tomato salads. Breakfasts also catered for various nationalities expectations (sausage, beans, egg, cold meats and cheeses) and there were croissants, lebuchen, toast, local honey, and the usual cereals and milk. To my 3 year old Son's delight, a refridgerated chocolate milk dispenser. On one day during my stay, it poured with rain - this would be the day for souvenir shopping, ploughing money into arcade machines etc. In my case, having a hire car, we visited an Aquarium in Palma instead. The Hotel is also a last stop on the Glass Bottom Boat tours, so it is an hours trip by boat to Porto Cristo.I would go again, although Calas de Mallorca is not the best base for sightseeing without a hire car, but ideal if you have no particular wish to visit anything besides the hotel and the beach.
