Ibiza, Although Busy - To Be Expected In August, I

Ibiza, although busy - to be expected in August, is ideal for families, with a lovely beach and family friendly restaurants and bars. The place was also geared to visiting Spanish tourists, which is always reassuring.

Although the El Cortijo apartment was clean, the apartments were supposed to be 'family friendly'. With a lift the size of a handkerchief we could barely get myself and the pushchair in, let alone our 6 year old. Luckily we were on floor one. Our apartment, 1B, should not be let out to families, as it was situated right on top of some kind of electrical unit which made a hideous noise all day and night, rendering a proper nights sleep impossible. The Thomsons rep seemed to think it was quite amusing that they had had 'lots of complaints' about the rooms, but shrugged it off, saying "someone has to have it". Er, no they don't!

The bar was frighteningly full of middle aged men all day, betting on the horse racing that was constantly shown, so it was not a place for families, and the bar staff were not interested in you unless you were one of these people.

I could mention the bidet that didn't work, the shower head that was so full of limescale it exploded onto me covering me in limescale, the cooker that broke and the smoke alarms that kept going off, but I think that would be perceived as being over the top!

Suffice to say, won't be returning.
