Funchal, Estalagem Casa Velha do Palheiro

This is a elegant country house hotel where you can really relax in a peaceful and idyllic setting located in the hills above Funchal, nestled next to some beautiful gardens and a stunning golf course. So much so that I plan to take golfing lessons to enable me to make full use of the facilities when I next return. The staff are so welcoming and helpful from the moment you arrive right up to your departure. The dining is intimate and the team of chefs produce an excellent mix of portuguese and international cuisine. Certainly tops my hotel experiences.
