Terrible Food

Went to this hotel on November 15th 2012 for 7days,worst thing i ever did.

It took 2hrs from landing at Faro to get to the hotel arrived 12.30pm,then we had to wait for our rooms to be ready,i was told 2pm before i could unpack not good.

On arrival the saga rep offered us a ORANGE drink which looked very tasty but when you tasted it believe me it was like warm water and orange colouring FOUL,and i told her this her answer was oh you dont like it then.

The next night was the SAGA dinner, believe me this was not good either,

1/ Starter was 3 sliced tomatoes with some kind of cheese (like you get on hamburgers)with olive oil.

2/ Soup if you can call it that was suppose to be asparagus but believe me more like potato soup with green colouring.

3/ Main course, small jacket potato with some kind of cream, broccoli that was not fully cooked plus carrots out of a tin,the sliced chicken had some sort of sauce that was far to salty (yuk). The rep said that all food had to have salt,(yes pinch of salt but not loads)

4/Sweet was 3 small cubes of cake which was the same as we had the night before.

5/Coffee was the best (i think not)was cold and i was told by the rep that the reason was because it had been in the flasks for some time, that is quite unexceptable.

You dont have a choice or menu its justed plated i feel that is not right you get what your given.

In the main buffet area the food was again not good, salad bar if you could call it that well that to was disappointing, cucumber like door stops if you know what i mean, large tomatoes cut into quarters (not sliced),lettace, soggy pasta mixed with some sort of fish i think, and a mixed rice dish.

What was missing was onion, coleslaw, potato salad, cold meat, egg. The buffet area was quite small for such a large bed hotel, and the selection of food was not exceptable.

the bar staff were nice and pleasant, decor not bad, but it is not a 4star hotel, (4****) i think was given because it has gym which you can use at a price, its clients are mostly paid members and open all year around.

Entertainment, was a chap singing in the corner 4nights a week, crazy bingo one night, and a cinema picture on the other. No real entertainment im sad to say.

If you dont mind dissappointing food and a 2** hotelthen this is for you,but if you expect good food please dont waste your money on this hotel. This hotel is not for saga quests.

package/tourist holiday makers maybe.

I would not recommend this hotel as a saga hotel for any of my friends, would be to embarressed
