Shabby Hotel In Good Location

Very disappointing "4 star" hotel. Surprising as there were lots of good reviews on Trip Advisor. Very grotty and in dire need of an upgrade. Even just a lick of paint would help. Almost every item, fixture & fitting in our room could do with repairing or replacing. The miserable staff could not manage to adequately lay tables in the "restaurant" - even just to provide a knife & fork was a struggle. Food choice was very limited and average at best. The pool bar didn't serve any food or drinks at all on the day we arrived, and even when they did, all that was on offer was a bland toasted sandwich and stale crisps! Only positives were the location - right next to a fantastic uncrowded beach, just 10 minute walk to the Old Town, good size apartment, and an indoor pool (small but kept the kids entertained when it was too cold to swim outside).

You Get What You Pay For

The food was good with a reasonable choice everyday. You would never go hungry. We stayed in the hotel (4 star apartment) which was clean and acceptable. The location was perfect 2 minutes walk down to the beach. 2 beds & an umbrella cost 10 euros a day on the beach. A steady walk in to the old town took us 20 minutes and was most enjoyable. We enjoyed the holiday and the following did not put us off.

We were served drinks in plastic glasses in the evening. The entertainment was focused on the French clientele. The bar staff and waiter service staff were miserable and did not make conversation. Reception staff were very helpful. The pool area was tired and slightly distressed. The snack bar at the pool area served very limited food and the staff took forever to serve.

There was a lot of groups (hen parties/stag parties) staying at the hotel, however, they were all very respectable and were all having fun. They did not cause any trouble.

Overall we had a good holiday and didn't let any of the negatives spoil our fun. There were 4 of us and we made our own entertainment.

Unprofessional Staff

unprofessional reception staff And bar staff !! They are lucky with the hotel location. This is the first time in last 8 years when I found such a bad staff never smiling and always being rude and bitter. They treat the French so different then everyone else, they mostly only talk to the French and play games with them, and treat the others like they don't exist They say they have a free bus to go into town the "bus" is a mini bus with 8 seats and when u were in line the French where always let on first. The reception is horrible they don't understand much English. I asked for lunch for 4 one day and they give me an egg and a tomato, I told them the next day and they called me a liar and never apologised and started giving cheek to me. The management are the cause of all of this.

You Get What You Pay For...

I stayed at this place with my partner at the end of July 2011, half board as part of a package deal. There are two parts to the place, the hotel rooms and the apartments, we were in the latter. The apartments were graded as 3* and although rather obvious, please don't go expecting 5* then moan :)

The apartment (40mins transfer from the airport) was perfectly serviceable but was looking rather tired and could do with updating. It was situated within a large complex and had a little kitchenette (fridge, sink, pots, cutlery and hot plate) and a nice patio. The walls were a little thin but the beds were comfortable. We had air conditioning and a TV (Sky News the only UK channel). The bathroom was a little shabby but fine with a good shower pressure. At the end of the day you don't spend forever in the room so as a base it was perfectly fine.

The weather was wonderful, around 30 degrees and not a cloud seen. The beach was only a minutes’ walk from our apartment and wasn't really that crowded, but we didn't go during the school holidays. The sea was lovely, if a little chilly, but you soon get used to that. Sun beds available on the beach with a parasol however these cost 10 Euros to hire PER DAY. The resort does have its own pool but we didn't use it as the beach was so close.

We went half board and generally the food was good. Breakfast was a little bland but you wouldn't go hungry. There are some nice places to eat in the nearby town (10/15 minute walk) though some tended to have similar menus.

In summary then...

-Perfectly happy to return

-No issues during our stay

-Really close to the beach

-Rooms serviceable and food fine

-Weather fantastic

-10/15 minute walk to town (free mini bus provided by resort)
