I Found The Apartment In The Rental Reviews Sectio

I found the apartment in the rental reviews section of the Slow Travel Website (http://www.slowtrav.com). Somebody had been there for some months and had loved it.

Behind the Tower is a nice size apartment for up to 4 people right in downtown Pisa. It is an amazing location, opposite the citywalls. The only problem is that it is a bit noisy sometimes, because it is a very busy area. No big deal for us, anyway.

The apartment is composed of 3 rooms: a double bedroom with a spacious wardrobe, a bathroom with shower (nice bathroom), and a large kitchen with double sofabed.

The kitchen is really well equipped, and the owners left us some coffee, salt, sugar, basic spices and olive oil. They also left us a welcome basket with pasta and wine.

There is a supermarket just around the corner, which is really great.

The owners picked us up at the airport, and they helped us with the car rental.

The area is very touristy, so all the closer parking spots are payparking, but there is a large park and ride parking 5 minutes away, so we left our car there.

We found the bus system very good. And Pisa is a really nice city, well worth a stay of two or three days, despite what we had heard before going.

There are a number of really cheap flights landing in Pisa: we travelled with Transavia.

We would recommend Behind the Tower to anybody, even as a base, because Pisa is really well connected to Florence, beautiful Lucca and Cinque Terre.
