Taormina, Villa Belvedere

I had a wonderful 2 week stay at the Belvedere. Do not be fooled by the 3 star rating, the hotel offers first class simple clean accomodation with the most wonderful views of the bay and Etna. I am sure if there was a restaurant it would easily be 4 star, but with over 150 restaurants in Taurmino, why would you want to eat in?

The botanical gardens are next door to the hotel, and are beautiful. You can walk throught them on the 5 minute walk to the town, 10 minutes to the greek theatre, which you should save for a clear day, stunning!

Each room has modern air con, but it is charged extra at 9 euro's per day, nearly £100 for the 2 weeks, although you can purchase days ad hoc if you feel the nice sea breeze is insufficent. It would be better if there was a lower rate to purchase for the 2 week stay, but this is a minor point.

Have visited the Belvedere for 9 years in succession. The hotel is small and friendly with impecable service. Lovely pool with al fresco lunch facilities.

Polite and friendly staff.

Old Italian villa. You will feel at home from home.
