Galway, Sea Breeze Lodge

My wife and I had never before stayed at a B&B; always timeshare or hotels. We reserved at Sea Breeze based on location and positive reviews. We are so glad we did!! Absolutely a wonderful B&B. Getting to spend several days sharing the home of Freddie and Michelle, enjoying their hospitality and wonderful breakfasts, and a great room with bay view made for a terrific 5 night stay in the Galway area. They also offered many sound recommendations for area dining, sights to see, etc. When, not if, we return to Galway, we certainly will book at the Sea Breeze. It was marvelous!

We stayed for 2 nights in this charming B&B. We had 2 bayfront rooms with a beautiful view of Galway Bay. We had a family 'take away" dinner on the balcony watching the sun set on Galway Bay! Amazing! The breakfast in the beautiful sun-room was wonderful. The sound of the grand piano in the background along with the sumptuous sampling of cheeses, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereals, and hot Irish Breakfast cooked to order started our day out on a lovely note. Our host & hostess were very considerate.

Sea Breeze Lodge is simply a perfect B&B across the board. Cannot fault it.

Location, breakfast and hospitality are all first class!

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Sea Breeze Lodge B&B in Galway Ireland. I'm sure this sounds pretty goddamn shallow when the rest of the world is caving in on itself, but I really liked that place... Everything... And I am very picky! When I first logged on to the B&B web site I thought it was a little pricey but then I thought, as it's not fair to compare a 99 fast-food burger with a $10 burger at a sit-down restaurant, it's not reasonable to expect the same standard from a B&B that charges $75 a night with a nearby property that charges double or triple that rate. At the end of the day, if it's value for money, we're happy! The decor, especially the breakfast room, the amazing hospitality and friendliness, value, housekeeping, setting and breakfasts were truly outstanding in every way. I felt I could stay there forever. My husband didn't mind that. ( Just joking )Look, my husband and I travel quite frequently. I am 47 years old, my husband 53, both are professionals and could honestly say that that place was one of the best places we stayed in if not the best.. What really makes it special, apart from the fact that Galway is a enchanted city, the owner's way of making people happy staying there. Always smiling, nothing was too much for him.We had a room that looked straight out to sea " Or, to be exact, Galway Bay. It was like being on a cruise at times! Bed was large extremely comfortable. I think the owner mentioned that it was fitted with a Tempur Pedic mattress. Lighting was soft yet sufficient for reading and working. Incidentally the broadband was exceptionally fast and efficient " a big plus for the working guest with their laptop. Extra large towels and beautiful quality bed linen were just some of the extras that stood out. The place was immaculately clean too.Thank you for a quiet and refreshing place to stay. Appreciate your friendly manner and accommodating hospitality to our breakfast needs. May you & your family be blessed. We were blown away by how many positive reviews there were of the Sea Breeze Lodge House, so we called them to see if they had room. Fortunately, they did, and we immediately booked a room with bay view with them.There aren't enough favorable adjectives to describe Sea Breeze Lodge B&B.House and the hospitality within. Comfort, friendliness,Helpfulness, delicious breakfasts, and fun, fun, fun!Visiting the owner was fantastic. He makes youFeel so welcome and really care about your stay with him.Galway has always been a favorite destination for us, now even more so, because of Sea Breeze Lodge House! We anxiously await our next visit and wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

After doing a whirlwind European tour of Amsterdam, Paris, and Cinque Terre; After walking many kilometers and travelling 12 hours, let me tell you: This last stop of accommodations was absolutely fabulous! I don't think I've ever used that word before. I thought about it and to simply say that this B & B was only 'great' would be a gross understatement. My girlfriend and I were to make our last stop in Galway and this B & B quickly became our home base. They were the best hosts your can possibly ask for. After settling in we were asked to come down and have a cup of tea. During our conversation over tea, we talked about our travels and what our plans for the city were. We soon realized that our hosts were there to guide us during our final stop in Galway. Armed with the best knowledge of the city, they gave us some valuable tips and tricks for enjoying Galway on tight budget. Months ago, when my girlfriend and I plotted out this tour of two weeks, I was a little hesitant about the expense Galway may be. These kind hosts helped melt those worries away. We were informed of great places to eat and options to travel around at minimal expense. These folk were engaging and very very entertaining.Okay let me give you the run down. Privacy was a factor for me and I felt quite comfortable at this bed and breakfast. I felt like I had a good buffer when was in my room. The room was very clean and organized equipped with TV and DVD player. It felt like a large comfy room with a King sized comfy bed. There is also wireless through out the home. The en-suite bathroom was immaculate and let's face the fact that a big clean and well stocked lavatory is a BIG plus.In the morning, you are well feed with a massive Irish/Continental breakfast... (French toast and the baby potatoes with smoked ham yummmm). They also have fruit and yogurt for those on the move. They basically have everything from food to adapters to invaluable knowledge. The host is funny and a great cook! The sunroom is great by the way!The house itself is very beautiful with a nice sized dining area that opens up to back conservatory ( Sun-room ). There you a free to browse through books from a large collection, along with a bunch of great worldly guides. They also have a nice open garden in the back. The house is about a 20 min walk to the city ( few minutes by car along the coast road. So in the end we were a quick ride from the action and did not have to spend a king's ransom to get above quality accommodations). Also, there are a few options to eat and drink just around the corner from home base, so don't believe you will be stuck in the middle of nowhere. There are also convenience stores just up the street. So, when I do decide to re-visit Galway, I will be staying at The Sea Breeze Lodge Bed and Breakfast. When we had to leave, my girlfriend and I were a little sad that our stay had run short. Leaving at 7 in the morning, we missed breakfast but being the sweet and kind hosts they are, sent us off with a care package of water, yogurt and granola bars so that we would have a little something in the belly for the long trip home. Full recommendations! Thanks again !

Good friends of ours recommended this place to us. We'd never stayed at a B&B before and really didn't know what to expect but trusted our friends not to steer us wrong. And they didn't.The owners made this one of the most enjoyable stays we ever had. The place is beautiful and immaculately maintained. The rooms are spotless. The cooking is out of this world. The beds, they have King Beds! are a delight to sleep on. The location, accommodation and hospitality were wonderful!!!Likewise, the dining in Galway was wonderful, so many restaurants to chose from.This is a must stay place for those looking for value, comfort, and wonderful views. There is so much more to say but then I'd take away the surprise you would get going to one of the very few places you won't have anything to complain about.

Galway really is nice; however, this place made it the worst place! My family recently returned from Ireland. It was a great trip except for the time we spent at the Sea Breeze Lodge. From the moment we walked into the Sea-Breeze Lodge, my family felt unwelcome. The owner handed us keys, pointed us in the direction of the rooms and the only thing he was focused on was finding out what time we wanted breakfast. The website looks so charming but please don't let that fool you! The place is not located directly on the bay, you need to cross a four lane highway. Please look into another B&B to stay at. I am certain you will find many others that offer much better service and better rates!
