Laganas, Zante Hotel Margarita

Just got back from Zakynthos and I would definitely recommend Hotel Margarita for a stay in Laganas, its the best hotel in the area and All Inclusive so good value for money. Family pool to the rear with a pool bar and quiet adults only pool at the front with a great range of activities for all as there are two dedicated entertainers on hand night and day, good range of entertainment from Quiz nights, Bingo, Comedy Shows and the like (kids entertainment in the early evening too!). Lots of restaurants nearby if you fancy taking a night out of the hotel with tons of shops along the strip and nightclubs if you fancy. Would definitely recommend hiring a quad bike and riding to Tsillivi (only 15 kms away) to the Two Brothers Bar where the cocktails (both alcholic and non alcholic) were fantastic! The only down part I would say is that the shops have alot of the same stuff with wide ranging prices so shop around! First Choice reps were very good and felt like we were leaving family when we finally came home and we were only there for a week!

Don't worry about any negative comments you may have read about Laganas. Got back on 12th May 2009. The place was spotless food was great. The entertainment was spot on. Adult pool at front of the hotel was so peaceful. Def going back next year.

Went to Greece for the first time and was our honeymoon with our two daughters and was really wary but wow what a fab holiday!!! Room cleaned everyday, food for all tastes, separate adult pool, staff where lovely and hotel not next to strip which was great as quiet off a night. There is a shop next door which was handy. Hotel also has cctv which is reassuring. Hotel does not stand for any disturbance to guests which was great. Cannot fault holiday at all and would recommend it 100% and want to go back next year. BEST HOLIDAY EVER.

This hotel is generally family orientated but when we say family we mean the whole family, youngsters and teenagers alike. If the young teenagers wanted to come in a bit later giggling etc, it was not frowned upon at all, quite the opposite. They were well looked out for. The kids ours was 8 were spoiled terribly and the staff always had time for them, playing and chatting to them at every opportunity.The service was wonderful and the food superb and my husband is fussy.

Arrived on May 6th 2008 for a 1 week stay. On arrival we were meet and greeted, allocated our room, given a table number for our meals and then left alone to do what we wanted! We had a welcome meeting the 1st night with our First Choice rep who told us all about the area and excursions available if we wished to book. Room fairly basic but satisfactory- kettle/fridge/hairdryer provided, with WC, shower (a bit crampt and gets most the bathroom wet!) and the most important bit - a comfy bed! Air con and safety box available at extra cost. No need for air con this time of year though, it was hot, but not unbearably hot/humid. Entertainment was fabulous - the Entertainers, provide various sports/activities during the day (aqua-aerobics, water polo, model making for kids, colouring etc), nightly Bingo and a different event on every night from Mr and Mrs, 'Mister Margarita', Karaoke, Comedy Sketch show plus others besides, all side-splittingly hilarious, we were in stitches at Manuel practically every night - he is an absolute Gold Star Asset to the hotel. Food was very good - puddings delicious!! Make sure not to over stuff yourself on the main-course and save a little room for the desserts. Overall, the hotel was fantastic - and having driven past others on excursions- I wouldn't have chosen any other! A**!!

The Ipswich ladz loved the Zante Hotel Margarita in Zakynthos, and had a great holiday thanks to the people we met, and due to the entertainment staff. Hopefully go back soon.

The Hotel Margarita is a really lovely hotel. There are two pools one for families and one for the adults who want to relax. Good entertainments programme. Rooms are basic but kept very clean.

Good buffet selection of food at ever meal. We went with our 16 year old son and were quite worried if he would be bored...absolutely not. There were lots of other guys his age and the entertainments programme during the day meant there was lots for him to do.

If there is a negative side the only one I could say is it is a bit of a way to the beach. However it is not that a brilliant a beach that this is of any concern

Zante Hotel Margarita is a superb Hotel offering first class accomodation and cuisine. Exclusive to First Choice so only English guests. Location is good approx. 1km from main strip which meant it was quite. The beach is quite a long walk but we did it with young kids and didn't have too many grumbles.

Zante Hotel Margarita is an excellent 3* plus hotel with First Choice, very clean; helpful staff. All inclusive: good variety of hot & cold food (packed lunch provided if you wish) and ALL drinks free. Daytime poolside snack bar opens 10am. Close to Laganas shops, but far enough away to be peaceful. Evening entertainment. TV in rooms.

Laganas is a great holiday location, probably has the most shops & restaurants of any place on Zakynthos. Lovely beach. Buy good value trips from local travel shops (cheaper than hotel reps.) using TEZ (Zakynthos Tourist Board). A lot of info found on "www.justzante.co.uk/laganas.htm"
